Compared to June, home sales and new listing activity declined across most CLAR Regions, while average sale prices continued to vary by local market.
"After several months of increased sales activity, the market saw a more moderate pace in July, while inventory levels remained healthy," said CLAR President Christine Riley. "Market conditions continue to vary across our Region, making it important for buyers and sellers to understand what's happening locally before making informed real estate decisions.
Durham Region recorded 713 home sales in July, down 12.6% from 816 in June. The average selling price remained relatively stable at $840,581, down just 1.6% from $853,827 the previous month. New listings totalled 1,720, providing buyers with continued choice despite a 16.3% decline from June, and homes sold in an average of 29 days.
