In 2020, the Town implemented ActiveTOA South Ajax: a series of marked routes along the active transportation network with symbols reflecting the flora and fauna of the area. The Town then received $25,000 in grant funding from the provincial and the federal governments towards expanding the ActiveTOA program to north Ajax. These new northern routes will connect to the Pickering Village, the McLean Centre and ARC with unique trail markings, including along the Millers Creek Trail.

These routes serve to encourage biking and active transportation within individual neighbourhoods. Active Transportation is working with the consultant to install markings on all 4 routes and several bike repair stations, which are expected to be complete by the end of November.
