Starting September 26 2016 Nacho Nyak Dun Development Corporation will be moving to a new office space.

Na-Cho Nyak Dun Development Corporation (NND-DC)
Whitehorse, Yukon
Duties: Reporting to the Board of Directors of the Na-Cho Nyak Dun Development Corporation (NND-DC), the Chief Executive Officer/President (CEO) is responsible for the management, operations and administration of the NND-DC. The CEO operates under the "mission" and "corporate mandate" of the NND-DC and receives direction, guidance, and support from the Board of Directors. The primary objective of this position is to identify and capitalize on business and investment opportunities that generate wealth income for Na-Cho Nyak Dun First Nation. In line with this mandate, the NND-DC equally pursues business ventures, partnerships and investments that will provide training and employment opportunities for NND Citizens. Another key role of the CEO is to seek and acquire investment capital for new business investments, as well as funding opportunities to support the enhancement of NND-DC's Governance capacity including both management systems and the professional development of NND-DC staff.

Qualifications:

* Post Secondary Degree
* An acceptable academic designation in Economic Development,
Commerce, Business Administration, Finance or Accounting, with
Experience, or;
* An equivalent combination of education, training and business
experience working in economic development, marketing,
economics and/or community development may be considered.

Salary: Commensurate with skills and experience

Job Details:

Specific wage is 13.50 per hour for a minimum of 35 hours per week.
Some overtime may be required.
This is a permanent full time position in a rural Yukon grocery store.
This position is available immediately
Priority may be given to citizens of the First Nation of Na-Cho Nyak Dun.

Requirements/Qualifications:

High School Diploma and 7 months to less that a year of experience is required. The applicant must be able to read and write English.

A clean criminal record check is required and must be provided to the employer prior to work commencing.

Work Conditions and Core Competencies:

Good Customer service orientation, outgoing, friendly character, work under pressure, have initiative, be a team player, flexible, reliable, self-confident, have attention to detail and be able to accurately follow direction provided, possible tight deadlines, physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling, handling heavy loads, up to 50 lbs, combination of sitting, walking, standing for extended periods.

Duties Include:

Bag, box, or parcel purchases for customers, for shipment or delivery, carry customer's purchases to parking lot and pack orders in customer's vehicles, obtain articles for customers from shelves or stockroom, direct customers to location of articles sought, unpack products received by store and count, weigh, or sort items, record incoming stock, stock shelves and display areas, keep stock clean and in order, price items using stamps and stickers according to price list, attach protective devices to products to protect against shoplifting, fill mail or electronic orders from warehouse stock, perform general cleaning duties (i.e. sweeping, mopping floors, cleaning shelves) operate computer for electronic commerce transactions, operate cash register, provide customer service, order picking.

Job Details

NOC #0621 Salary Range from 48000 to 60000 annually. Hours per week 40 - 46 expected necessary.

Completion of college-vocational or technical training with 2 years experience in supervisory and assistant manager roles in grocery stores required. Equivalent Experience and a high school diploma may be considered. Applicant must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.

Applicant should have adequate experience in the use of retail Point of Sale systems, inventory Control software, MS Office(electronic spreadsheets, word processing, email application) accounting software and computerized bookkeeping system, and have a general internet competency.

Applicant needs ability to supervise 1- employees or less and should be ables to manage their time, assign duties, and discipline if necessary. As well other skills and responsibilities will include, determining some merchandise to be sold, implementing price and credit policies, perform cash deposits, balance daily transactions, determine staffing requirements, recruit and train staff, resolve problems that arise, such as customer complaints and supply shortages, be customer service orientated. Individual should be able to work under pressure with tight deadlines, handle heavy loads occasionally, give attention to detail and make decisions.

The job requires a combination of sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods in a fast paced environment where one may have to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Handling heavy loads is necessary as is attention to detail. Applicant should have strong ability to work with others as a team, or independently.

Applicant should have good judgement, flexibility, effective interpersonal awareness skills, excellent oral communication, excellent written communication, team player, client focus, and organizational skills.

This position is in a rural Yukon community. The applicant must be willing to relocate. Provision of a criminal record check is required for this position. The applicant should be bondable.
