Great news: The Purple Cabin was awarded funding from Yukon Gov't Historic Properties Assistance Fund to permanently shore up the foundation and for some exterior paint and window restoration! Painting party this summer! 🫟🎨

Wed Jan 28, at 10:15am, the verdict in our appeal from last June will be handed down! I will be attending in person at the Yukon Courts. All are welcome.

Eric here. The judgement is in, and we were not successful at saving the Purple Cabin.

The Minister described these life estate leases as “life tenure“ and I believe him, so I respectfully disagree with this judgement. I will know more about grounds for appealing in the coming days. This continues to be a fascinating journey.

Hi all. Eric here. After two days of much needed R&R, I reflected on this experience and know the following: That it has taken its toll on body and mind. That both sides made fair points. That I feel treated fairly. And that is a good thing. 💜

However things go, there will always come a time, sooner or later, when the story of the Purple Cabin reaches its final chapter. What, then, do we as a community want for it? And who wants to take up that mantle? 💜
