Attention: Windsor Landlords and Tenants, The "Windsor Housing Providers" and The "City of Windsor" have reached a Settlement Agreement. What does this mean? You do NOT have to get a Residential Rental License until an injunction hearing is heard and ruled on November 27, 2023.

IMPORTANT UPDATE!! PLEASE READ CAREFULLY!

We achieved a small victory today in court. Please read below our lawyers' Steven Pickard statement:

"Today, lawyers for the City of Windsor committed to an Appeals Judge of Divisional Court that Windsor will NOT be forcing people to have licences and will NOT be issuing tickets under the RRL By-law. We expect this status to remain until Divisional Court determines if an injunction should be in place pending a determination if the By-law is legal".

This is only a temporary victory. We must keep on the pressure to squash this RRL bylaw!

WE NEED TO SHOW UP IN FORCE TO THE RALLY AT CITY HALL SQUARE THIS MONDAY MAY 29TH AT 3PM. LET'S KEEP THE MOMENTUM GOING!!!!!

More taxes! More bureaucracy! You Got It!! The City of Windsor has introduced the Residential Rental Licensing Bylaw to the detriment of both Landlords and Tenants. This unfair Tenant tax increases rents, kills jobs, increases property taxes, and reduces the housing supply. Incredibly, the RRl taxes even brand new rental dwellings! We need more affordable housing, NOT LESS!! Contact your councillor to repeal the RRL and STOP THE TENANT TAX !!!
