As part of Doors Open London, Village SoHo is unveiling outdoor panels that tell the story of the site's history from its origins as the old Victoria Hospital through to its current use as a first-of-its-kind mixed-income housing project. Join Indwell at 373 Hill Street on Saturday, September 19, at 10 am, 1 pm, or 3 pm for guided tours.

We want to extend a huge thank you to several organizations and community partners that provide nutritious, delicious food to our Hamilton programs.

Food for Life from Burlington generously provides weekly food and produce, which is picked up and delivered right to our programs by Ryan Forrester of St. Matthew's House. Thank you!

And we appreciate our dedicated, talented food security staff. This donated food is prepared and incorporated into meals and programming for over 130 tenants in four programs — Parkdale Landing, Strathearne Suites, King William Flats, and City View Apartments in Burlington.

Speaking of food, we want to give another big shout out to K & K Greenhouses for a large donations of strawberries which were shared to tenants across the city, who got one last taste of summer! 🍓

"Jamieson, 50, says having a door he can lock has helped him stabilize from homelessness and focus on health issues, including cataracts and addiction.

"'I’ve got my own privacy. I don’t have to worry about my things going missing, or if I fall asleep that something’s going to get stolen.'”

Greg is just one of many Indwell tenants who's come directly out of homelessness into permanent safe, supportive housing with Indwell in St. Thomas.

25 years ago, Indwell — then called Homestead — acquired Caroline Apartments in Hamilton, the first building to include our revolutionary model of independent living with supports, like on-call emergency care and programming. This set the stage for Indwell’s programs to this day.

According to our biannual newsletter at the time “…the clients will have access to 24 hours on call emergency care. Rehabilitation training services will expand existing programs in life and social skills, meal and finance skills, leisure and recreation skills, and education/vocational skills.”

Indwell's Hamilton staff and tenants celebrated Caroline Apartment's 25th anniversary last week with a fun bbq, sharing memories and enjoying an icecream truck! 🍦
