I know this one might be controversial, but I really believe where you live matters just as much as the house itself.

You can renovate the kitchen, repaint the walls, change the finishes, and sometimes even add extensions. But you can’t move the neighbourhood closer to the people and places you care about.

If I had 30 days before putting a home on the market, I’d spend less time stressing about major renovations and more time focusing on the details buyers actually notice 🔑
A clean home changes everything 🧼
Buyers pay attention to the little things. Dusty baseboards, scuffed walls, burnt out light bulbs, and dripping faucets quietly shape how they feel walking through a space.
I’d also declutter hard 📦
Not because a home needs to feel cold or empty, but because buyers need room to picture their own routines, furniture, and life there. Clear counters, organized closets, and open spaces instantly make a home feel bigger and calmer 🤍
Then I’d focus on the simple updates with the biggest impact 👇

These things are a little too accurate. 😅
The longer I’ve been in real estate, the more these things have become second nature. I can’t walk past a “For Sale” sign without looking, and I never think twice about answering a text with a quick real estate question.

If I were buying my first home in Woodstock today, these are the things I’d focus on first. 🏡

A lot of first-time buyers spend months thinking about things like paint colors and layouts, but those decisions come later.

I’d make sure I understood the full cost of buying, get pre-approved before touring homes, choose the right neighborhood, and never skip the inspection. I’d also leave some money in the bank after closing because every home comes with a few surprises.

Life has a funny way of changing chapters while you’re still in the middle of the story.
After 11 years in business, real estate has become so much more than a career for me. It’s something I’ve built, grown into, and am genuinely proud of.

And now, this season looks a little different.

My daughter is getting ready for university, while my 12-year-old still wants his soccer games, his PlayStation time with Mom, and all the little moments that make this stage of motherhood so special. ❤️

Somewhere in between summer plans, family moments, and the everyday beautiful chaos, I’m still doing what I love.

Not because I’m chasing “the hustle.”

Because I’ve built something I care about — and I’m grateful that it gets to grow alongside my family.

Maybe that’s the real reward after 11 years: realizing you don’t have to choose between being present for your family and building something meaningful of your own. You can do both. 🏡❤️

And if you’re in that season too — cheering your kids on while quietly trying to remember where you put your coffee, your calendar, and occasionally yourself — I see you. 😂❤️
