I feel like we’ve officially reached that weird part of August where I’m trying to hang onto summer while many things around me are telling me it’s coming to an end.
Last week was six straight days at the rink for Canada Winter Games hockey trials. Minor hockey registration has now closed, which means my board has a boatload of work ahead of us turning registrations into teams, finding coaches, building schedules and getting another season off the ground.
Meanwhile, I’m still looking outside thinking there are a few summer jobs I should probably get done before it’s too late.
This weekend I actually managed to get some yard work done and deal with a few things around the house that I’ve successfully ignored for most of the summer.
Even the hockey gear got to spend some time outside enjoying the sun. 🤣
And somewhere mixed into all of that, I’ve had a few really good conversations with clients who are starting to think about what they are going to do this fall, and managed to get out and shoot some new video that I’ll share later this week.
Nothing particularly profound here. Just August in Yellowknife.
Trying to squeeze a little more out of summer while knowing full well that hockey season is coming whether I’m ready for it or not.
