"See another filling station. Thank God", I muttered softly.
So, I hitched a ride with my classmate, John. We had a late exam in school and everywhere was almost deserted.
The moment he started the car, it je**ed for a while.
"My fuel tank is almost empty, I really hope we can get to a filling station with the little fuel remaining", he said.
It was almost 6:30PM. Our exams ended very late that day.
"This car shouldn't stop us half way o", I worried inwardly as I got in and we zoomed off.
Surprisingly, John sped past the first three filling station.
"Ah ah...John, the fuel", I reminded.
"We have to get to NNPC mega station", he replied.
"But you said your tank was almost empty", I observed.
"These filling station sell petrol at N540 per litre but at NNPC, it's N525.
"N15 difference", I noted.
"Maybe you want to fill your tank", I replied.
"Fill fuel tank under this economy. Noooo, I just want to buy 4 litres", he said.
I couldn't believe it.
John was only trying to save only N60 all along. E don red o!
'Hmmmmmmm".
"Where will you be on Sunday" I asked him after a while.
"No concrete plans yet", he replied.
"Please be at Hillton Leisure Hotel this Sunday 9th July at 1PM.
"Why? What's going on there", he asked.
"Don't you need a correct side hustle that will cover your daily expenses and more?" I asked.
"Ofcourse, I do. My sister, this is the worst year ever o. I need a miracle", he replied.
" Attend Dynace Business Summit in Awka this Sunday and quietly change your story".
"This is interesting", he replied.
"After the summit, you should be filling your fuel tank with ease?", I added.
"Ehhhh! Haaa, I will surely be there", John assured.
