Crossing the Moné River in Anyangland.

The Moné River is said to have originated in the highlands of the Upper Banyang area. Around Ejuingang it is called the Mo River. The river snakes itself through the Betieku lands around the villages of Tafu, Ebgemo and Bakumba before trespassing into Eyongwa clan to Anyangland.

At NYANG, the river is wait-deep and easily forded, however in the rainy season canoes are employed to cross the river. The ecological importance of this river is such that the government created the Moné forest reserve that straddles Akwaya and Upper Banyang sub-divisions.

The abandoned, rusted and dilapidated pillars which primarily were aimed to construct a bridge over river Mone from Nyang over to The Great Mbu chiefdom (one of the biggest Anyang villages)

The dream of Anyang people was shattered since this river remains a threat in the rainy season. Also at the great Mbu chiefdom, The small stream linking Mbu and Akwa (the most prominent Anyang village along Mamfe—Akwa Highway) pillars were eroded but the dream of completing this bridges seems to be more of fiction than reality.

This is MUKONYONG village. This Denya-speaking village were Anyangcised more than a century ago, as the descendants are actually cousins to the Eshobi people in Mamfe Central subdivision.

It is remarkable that the earth road rehabilitated from Mamfe via Eshobi ends in Mukonyong. This is as far as cars can ply the road without stress.
Mayor Tabe of Mamfe is also a son of Mukonyo. His mother is from here.

The village is dominated by The Anyang language, though 30% of the village speaks Kenyang due to their relationship with Eshobi

This is Nchumba village, This small Denya-speaking village is among the most northerly Anyang village. It is one of the villages of the Basho clan (others being Meleyong, Mbilishi, Ketoya and Makwe).
The village is full of hospitality. Very welcoming. It is indeed a great village to live in.
The village is headed by a traditional ruler called Chief Takie.

THE ABANDONED VISION OF ANYANG- LAND

This is an abandoned, dilapidated , broken bridge in MELEYONG village in Anyang land over river Mavi.
The government has Abandoned our roads .
Mamfe—Akwa Road was navigable in the early 2000s.

But today, we can’t tell the same story . Roads abandoned , bridges are now broken, rusted and damage . Our children are exposed to danger , but these pöör angels plays around what is seen as danger by elders . They are pöor and ignorant about where they play and the consequences.

The Akwaya council headed by Ekwalle Martins has failed the Anyang people .

No good roads, no blowholes, no council structures, no markets . Mindful of the fact that The mayor has been in power for 19 years.

Let’s sit up and make our clan great and a feared clan like it was in the days of old .
Why are educated elites exempted from holding positions in the Akwaya council,

Instead uneducated persons across the sub division are employed as councilors .
They have never had any proposals which benefits their people during council sessions. All they are interested as councilors is to collect the 50,000frs in each of the sessions.

How can an uneducated farmer become a councilor? The mayor is appointing such councilors who can not counter his decisions or question his decisions.
They are more of hand clappers than councilors.

Anyang-people arise and make your home the heavens of hospitality it was 19 years ago.
