These are the young girls working as Akpara (Hookups) in Buea .
These young ladies leave the northwest and center region coming to work in buea as hookups .
The worst is that the Ones from north west always work first in Dla , after learning French, , they later move to Buea to work at Molyko . They claim to be Francophones .

Last week some Nso girls caught some of them , saying they were from their village
But claiming to be Francophones here in buea.

Some few southwesterners also claim they are Nigerians that came to Cameroon-to hustle.

MANYU/CROSS RIVER CULTURE AND IDENTITY

Did you know apart from Ekpe or Mgbè secret society in Manyu Division,Cameroon and cross river state in Nigeria , there exist other Traditional secret societies ??

Ekpo and Angbu are secret societies that shapes the political and social economic landscape of our communities.

Ekpo is usually manifested during festivals and celebrations. In festivals like new yam and cassava festivals Boki and Etung in cross river in August and September yearly , Ekpo is mostly used to animate the population, and traditional rites are being performed during this period

Same thing happens with the Boki Cameroon, during the Cassava celebration in July yearly.
It is believed by most natives that Ekpo is a very dangerous mystical masquerade which at times people seek solutions to their problems.

Angbu is another secret society, that is more secretive than Ekpe (Mgbe). It is a spiritual aspect of our traditions, especially in the Boki and Ejagham. Angbu is a secret society that deals with the spiritual aspect of our communities.
It mostly displays at night , it is use to chase away ghost 👻 that are bringing problems to the village upon death.
Angbu is used to chase their spirits away from the village .
This secret society is deeply rooted from the Boki and Ejagham part of Manyu and Cross River state.
Manyu’s rich cultural can’t be ignored.✊
