What is the difference between the taobao shop and the physical store

As the product price on Taobao is not including the rent of the physical store (sometimes even more than 1 physical store), utilities cost, repeated labor cost and taxes, etc., most of the product prices are cheaper than those in physical store. However Taobao is not simply a place where people look for bargains. Many of the upscale products on Taobao are also in good sales. Consumers consists of low-end group, middle-end group and high-end group just like when they are in other markets. On Taobao market consumers are able to choose the product with good quality and reasonable price more freely.

Compared to the physical store , Taobao shop definitely has a big avantage which is the rating system. All buyers can evaluate the seller’s service and the quality of the product after they got the goods. Bad evaluations will effect the product’s rating on Taobao. People choose their favorite product in the reputable shop after they read other buyers’ comments.

Having no geographical limitation when selling products on Taobao is another big advantage compared to the physical store. Instead, a physical store can only fulfill local customers’ needs. For a better sales the seller needs to build many physical store in different places.
