Los vecinos de Ecovilla San Mateo somos guardianes de más de 120 hectáreas de reserva natural 🌿

De hecho, esta reserva forma parte de la Red Costarricense de Reservas Naturales Privadas (RCRN), una asociación sin fines de lucro que agrupa a más de 200 reservas privadas en todo el país. En conjunto, protegen más de 82,000 hectáreas que incluyen bosques primarios, secundarios y páramos.

En nuestra reserva hemos observado pumas, jaguarundis, ocelotes, tayras, venados y mucho más 🐾

Nuestro equipo ya ha creado más de 25 km de senderos para disfrutar este paraíso y, sobre todo, para seguir cumpliendo nuestro propósito: ser guardianes de esta naturaleza preciosa.

Yesterday night we had a potluck at La Ecovilla (Original), basically everyone is invited to cook a dish and bring it to one of our common areas called the Rancho for a shared meal.

Doing this reminds us how special it is to share good food while connecting with your friends and neighbours.

The small kids love to play around while the big kids talk and laugh together. Another Friday night to remember 🥘🌟

Dec 31st, 2025 was the first swim for many in the Ceiba pool, while taking in an incredible sunset nature show.

2026 is the year when many neighbors will begin moving into their homes at Ecovilla San Mateo. An iconic and memorable chapter, to say the least.

The truth is that our community is quite diverse - in age, nationality and socioeconomic backgrounds. What brings us together is a shared desire to live a slower-paced life, more connected to ourselves, to nature and to each other.
