City of Oakland, California Sues Monsanto. Oakland filed a lawsuit holding Monsanto accountable for contamination of the city’s storm water & the San Francisco Bay with PCBs. Oakland is the 4th city this year to sue Monsanto, behind San Diego & San Jose, CA, and Spokane, WA. “The company that is responsible for this vast contamination should bear the burden of cleaning up our environment, not the taxpayers of Oakland and California. Monsanto knew that its products posed a significant threat to human and environmental health around the world. However, the company chose profits over protecting people, and American cities and citizens are still suffering the consequences” - Barbara J. Parker, Oakland City Attorney.

Keep the lawsuits piling on - bankrupt Monsanto.

BOYCOTT GMOs: GMO backlash threatens GMO sugar beet farmers as foodmakers swap sugars. GMO sugar beet growers have seen their share of the U.S. sugar market slip to the smallest on record. Rather than switching to non-GMO crops, the GMO sugar beet lobby has decided to pump money into propaganda instead. It spent almost $1 million in the first half of the year on issues including GMO labeling, according to U.S. Senate records reviewed by Reuters. And the American Sugarbeet Growers Association and Monsanto are training mom bloggers, enlisting 18 women, largely GMO farmers and wives of GMO farmers, to defend GMO sugar on Twitter and Facebook and persuade mothers that GMO seeds are safe. They believe that because the message is being delivered by women, that consumers will trust it. PURE DECEPTION. BEWARE THE MOM BLOGGER that tells you GMOs and pesticides are safe.

This is truly terrifying....

Korean researchers have developed a genetic engineering technique with the goal of avoiding regulation. “However, in terms of regulations and public acceptance, our method could be path-breaking” because the new organisms “might be exempt from current GMO regulations.”

If this sentence doesn't bother you, it should. The researchers were openly acknowledging that the point of their efforts is to work around existing GMO regulations. Regulations are outdated and whether this form of genetic engineering will avoid regulation remains to be seen. Yet another attempt to force feed us GMOs without our knowledge or consent.

Just do it. Don't make up a list of reasons that you can't....

Just in case you're undecided, this great article by Dr. Alan Greene, a pediatrician, and Anna Lappé, co-founder of the Small Planet Institute and a nationally best-selling author, explains why organic is the best choice we can make for our families. The tide is turning. A recent poll from the Organic Trade Association found a sharp decrease in parents who say price is a key factor limiting their organic purchases. “Parents in charge of the household budget recognize the benefits of organic,” said the trade group’s Laura Batcha. “And they’re willing to pay a little more to know that they are giving their families the highest-quality and most healthy products being offered in their local store.”

By definition, organics cannot be grown from GMO seeds. Organic agriculture does not use synthetic pesticides and our organic farmers work hard to avoid contamination from GMOs. Thank an organic farmer for doing what is best for our families and our environment. And plant a garden, grow your own. Let's take back control of our food. BOYCOTT Roundup drenched, pesticide producing GMOs.

Tom Brady, Quarterback for the New England Patriots, didn’t mince words when he called out Big GMO Food corporations, specifically Kellogg’s and Coca-Cola, and their brainwashing of the American public into believing the products they make are good for you. He called Coca-Cola “poison for kids” and continued, “I think we’ve been lied to by a lot of food companies over the years, by a lot of beverage companies over the years. But we still do it. 1998: The year Biotech launched its war on science. Arpad Pusztai, an impeccably qualified scientist & a previous supporter of GMOs, received a grant to develop standard animal feeding trial testing methods to assess possible toxicological effects arising from the GE plant transformation process. The rats fed the GE potatoes in his feeding study developed organ damage, immune defects and other health problems. He found it was the actual process of genetic engineering that was the problem. Dr. Pusztai's response to the study finding was to say... "If I had the choice, I would certainly not eat it. I find it's very unfair to use our fellow citizens as guinea pigs." Dr. Pusztai was treated like a hero in the media...for one day. The very next day after his TV interview, he was fired from his position at his research institute, humiliated, discredited, and legally silenced. Biotech's anti-science campaign continues to this day. Feel like eating one of those Simplot GMO non-bruising potatoes that the USDA just approved?
