Furnishing such a unique, custom home is not a simple, visit to the furniture store, process. Nothing even remotely close to throwing a couple of beautiful, contemporary couches in the living room.
We started out thinking that way but quickly realized that it wasn't going to work. We considered some wicker furniture for a while but it didn't work either in our mind’s eye. For a moment we panicked. We thought that nothing we would find in stores would help us blend the beautiful interior with the lush nature outside. Until one day a piece of wood caught our attention. It was dark chocolate color with cream color lines. Very unique, fabulously strong and resistant. We used it previously in building some bathroom furniture because of it's resistance to humidity. When we saw it, we knew we had to work with this amazing material and create something striking and organic, something which wouldn’t disturb the experience of leisure as you look out on the garden and listen to birds and monkeys. Concerned as we were about the esthetics and the natural look we new that comfort comes first and it needed to be as comfortable as any good, old fashioned couch. So we took to the drawing pad, the requirements were high; organic, modern, comfortable and beautiful!
This is what we created with help from amazing craftsmen who made the design come to life.
The back pillows are missing and we are still looking for an appropriate coffee table but we couldn’t wait to share this with you. Pura Vida, Anna
