Luckily cabbage grows easily in our zone of Costa Rica, because one of the main health staples in our home is homemade sauerkraut! Fermented foods are rich in probiotics, which greatly improve your digestive health and overall immune system!

One of our favorite features to include in tropical home design is a second open air kitchen! In our outdoor kitchen we store and process fruit from the farm, meat, and make vegetable ferments. Not to mention the option of simply cooking in the fresh air and enjoying the view!......

One of the best perks of tropical living is the ease of landscaping (year round) flowers, herbs, and veggies. We’re lucky to be abundant in water in our local zone, so no watering EVER necessary for our flowers! 🙏🏼💧🌺🌞....................

When I started Natural Living Designs as a sustainable real estate and permaculture service, I never imagined I would fall in fall in love with designing homes and overseeing the builds! But now, I spend a majority of time helping clients create their dream home or vacation space...
In the photo above, in collaboration with our friends and neighbors , I helped an amazing young family manifest this Bali - inspired vacation home, with beautiful local wood, contrasted with crisp white walls.
I can’t wait to see how they decorate the interior!
