Great news for the wonderful wildlife we have here!

Costa Rica has taken a major step toward protecting wildlife from deadly road collisions.

Lawmakers unanimously approved legislation requiring wildlife crossings to be considered in new and existing public infrastructure projects.

Depending on the species and location, those measures could include tunnels, underpasses, fencing, culverts and elevated bridges or ropes for monkeys, sloths and other tree-dwelling animals.

The bill now moves to the president for signature before it can become law.
