Land disputes are more than lines on a map — they’re about ownership, justice, and trust. 🏡⚖️

In Cyprus, the Land Registry stands as the foundation of legal certainty, ensuring every owner’s rights are protected.

But what happens when there’s a disagreement over boundaries?

✅ Article 80 of Cap.224 gives owners the right to challenge decisions by the Director of the Land Registry.
❌ However, this challenge doesn’t question the validity of the cadastral plan — which is protected under Article 61 — but rather its application.

The Supreme Court in Civil Appeal 314/2016 reaffirmed:

Boundaries must follow Land Registry records 📜

Private “arrangements” or shortcuts don’t hold up 🚫

Legal certainty depends on trust in institutions 🏛
