When I recorded this video at Halk Plajı in Karaoğlanoğlu on Sunday afternoon, I had no idea that, just a few kilometres away, the passenger ferry was sinking right outside Kyrenia harbour.

Sometimes joy and sorrow are very close to each other…

Peyia, Paphos — a little corner of Cyprus that I’m lucky enough to call home. Set on the hills above the Mediterranean, Peyia combines beautiful sea views, warm sunshine, traditional Cypriot charm and a wonderfully relaxed way of life. With Coral Bay just nearby and the wild beauty of the Akamas Peninsula within easy reach, there’s always something to explore. But what I love most are the simple moments: the golden sunsets, the scent of the sea, quiet village streets and those endless shades of blue. Living here still feels a little bit like being on holiday — only this is home.

The Holy Monastery of St. Nicholas of the Cats is one of Cyprus’ most peaceful and fascinating places, where history, faith, and nature have been intertwined for centuries.

According to legend, hundreds of cats were brought here to protect the island from snakes. Even today, they roam freely around the monastery, giving this unique place its unmistakable character.

Unfortunately, we couldn’t visit the inside of the monastery because it was closed during the midday break. Even so, it was an impressive place to experience, and the peaceful atmosphere made the visit well worth it. 🐈😍
