We keep receiving questions regarding the water quality at Lipno.
Few people know that our water quality is tested and evaluated every year by the European Environment Agency.
We are pleased to announce that for 2025 and previous years, the bathing water quality at all three monitored locations was rated as “excellent”.
Samples are taken from the following locations:
📍 Horní Planá
📍 Černá v Pošumaví
📍 Lipno nad Vltavou Beach

Setting the rumors straight 🐾
There have also been rumors circulating that the water is dangerous for pets. However, the investigation by the Czech Police has found no evidence suggesting that the deaths of the dogs were caused by poisoning from the Lipno reservoir. These reports are false.
