We would like to inform you that the government of the Czech Republic has agreed to the process of extending temporary protection (TP) for holders of temporary protection in Ukraine. The process was started on 30.01.2023. Extended Temporary Protection will be valid until 31.3.2024, which means that your employees with extended Temporary Protection will be able to stay in the territory of the Czech Republic and continue their current employment until 31.3.2024.
According to the new immigration regulations of the Czech Republic, nationals of Ukraine are required to obtain a new visa sticker to extend the current TP. The process of obtaining an extended TP can take several weeks or even months, depending on the individual case and the internal capacity of each immigration office. In order to assist your Ukrainian nationals who are temporary protection holders with the extension process, the staff member must do the following:
1. Electronic registration at prod.frs.gov.cz (required from 30.01.2023 to 31.03.2023)
https://prod.frs.gov.cz/docasna-ochrana/
Failure to register electronically by 31.3.2023 will result in the expiry of the TP from 1.4.2023. In the event that temporary protection ends, the holder of protection loses the right to work in the Czech Republic.
Children under 18 years.
If the protection holder has a child/children under the age of 18, it is not necessary to create a new account for them on the prod.frs.gov.cz website, and the shell of the parent's account is used to extend the children's TP. For school-age or pre-school children, it will be necessary to fill in the name and address of the school (for statistical purposes only).
2. Meeting at the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic, OAMP (must be completed by 30.09.2023)
Based on the confirmation of appointment received by e-mail from the previous electronic registration, the protection holder will have to visit the immigration office.
You will need to have the following documents with you during the appointment:
Valid passport;
Confirmation of accommodation / lease agreement confirming accommodation in the Czech Republic;
Document confirming that the holder of protection can act as the child's representative (for example, the original birth certificate + its translation into Czech).
If the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic does not visit the OAMP for the purpose of issuing a visa sticker by 30 September 2023, the Temporary Protection will end on 30 September 2023. If the temporary protection expires, the holder of the protection loses the right to work in the Czech Republic.
