Successful teams don’t just “show up” to a meeting.
They set the conditions for it to succeed, even before anyone takes a seat.
Here’s what we consistently observe the most effective teams doing before their meetings at .berlin:
1. Clarify the objective.
“What exactly are we meeting for?” gets answered, honestly and in one sentence.
2. Share pre-reading.
If it involves numbers, context, or strategy, they send it ahead of time.
Live sessions are for thinking, not reading slides together.
3. Define roles.
Who’s leading? Who’s contributing? Who’s deciding?
Clear roles avoid drift and create real momentum.
4. Time-box intentionally.
Smart teams respect attention.
Most of their meetings fit inside 60 minutes, on purpose.
5. Set the room physically and psychologically.
Is the space open? Focused? Inclusive?
Can people challenge, reflect, or pause without pressure?
Because,
"A meeting doesn’t begin when people walk in.
It begins the moment someone decides it’s worth gathering"
Teams that take that seriously, move things forward.
