2:45 PM (EST). Irma has left a small trail of debris but nothing like some of the devastation felt on other parts of the this Island and Others. We were truly blessed, maybe because of the design of our structure maybe by divine intervention. We have been on generator since 4 AM this morning, I am told Ede Norte shut down the grid to avoid problems. Things did get very Windy and rainy but as of this time we really only have some major clean-up to do. I am told we may expect some trailing rain effect but we are in good shape for Water Damage. And, many of you would be pleased to know the Barrio next door was not flooded, just got back from a visit.

We have been pounded with Rain in the last couple of weeks, here are some photos of what is going on around us, including: the entrance to UTESA University last night, the Callejon de la Loma this morning, a Jeep trying to navigate the roads in Gaspar Hernandez, where most of our staff live and our own Veggie Man trying to walk home. And finally, the view I had leaving my home this morning. Schools are closed in some areas and getting around and getting work done is very difficult.

The president has closed all schools until Wednesday and UTESA University in Puerto Plata has suspended classes today in anticipation of lots of rain in the area.
