You’ll have one chance to make a great 1st impression on these potential buyers, so make sure to follow these 5 helpful tips to really make it
count!
1. FOCUS ON THE OUTSIDE
Make sure that you don’t neglect the outside of your home. If they pull up and see a home with a lawn that obviously needs edging and has an unkempt flower bed, they’re going to wonder what else hasn’t been cared for properly. You want the outside of your home to be spotless.
2. TAKE YOURSELF OUT OF THE HOUSE
That means that you want to take out all of the personal stuff. Remove the family photos from the walls and tables. You want the home to look neutral so that the potential buyers can look at your house and picture it as themselves living there.
3. REMOVE ALL CLUTTER.
When you have a lot of clutter, it shrinks the living space of the house. It makes it look and feel cramped and smaller. Many homeowners have lived in the home for so long that they don’t even really see it anymore. But a stranger will always notice. So, clean out your house and make the space look as big as possible.
4. IF YOU HAVE A PET, NO ONE SHOULD NOTICE IT EXISTS.
That means no cat litter box, no dog to jump on anyone, no food sitting around in a dish. Your home should not have any pet odours. Having a clean house that’s odour free is a big selling point.
5. STAGE YOUR HOME!
Stage your living areas in a way that shows off your home. You can even hire a professional who knows how to play up the best features of your home and knows what to bring in or get rid of to make the entire house appeal to a buyer.

Since Brexit, if you are planning to move from the UK to Tenerife then you will need to acquire a visa. The visa application must be submitted in the UK (you cannot submit from Spain) within 90 days before your intended travel date. Here is a handy list of the documents you will need to support your application:

• Completed National Visa form from the UK Spanish Consulate website
• 2 identical photos on a white background, no older than 3 months (3 x 4 cms)
• Original passport valid for at least 12 months from date of application
• A certificate from your bank for proof of funds (currently approx. monthly Income of 2151,36€)
• Proof of a clean criminal record in every country lived in for the last 5 years (translated and notarised in Spanish)
• Proof of private health insurance (insurance company MUST be accredited to operate in Spain)
• Proof of being clear of disease via an official medical certificate
