AI can be useful, even if most times we really laugh and shake our heads at how silly it is. We sort of believe it´s like having a young teenager on practics, fresh out of high school: you can give it tasks, but you have to revise them afterwards 100%. 😁 Good job done today, as seen in those pics, and we thank it for all the abominations of a photo that made us laugh!

😏Friday Chisme Time again! This time no calming waterfall needed.

🏠 A Quick Reflection on the Real Estate Market (This Month Has Been Interesting…)

This month we’ve seen two completely different faces of the same industry.

Face number one:

“€1000/month long term rental.
Tenant has to pay commission because the owner doesn’t.”

That’s it.

No explanation.
No transparency.
No context.

Just bold cost shifting — delivered as if it’s unquestionable.

The most striking part isn’t even the money.

It’s the audacity.

The arrogance with which it’s presented.
As if nobody will ask.
As if nobody will know better.
And the very telling change in their tone on the phone.

No sales pitch.
Just:
“2 bed bungalow. Take it or leave it.”

No photos.
No link.
No presentation.

Simply: the market is tight, so jump through the hoops.

And then — on the opposite side:

An owner trying to bypass the very agent who actually did the job properly.

The one who:
• organised viewings
• screened tenants
• negotiated terms
• protected both sides

Same market, different extremes. Now let’s be clear:

We’re not here to sh*t on real estate.

We’ve found honest, innovative agencies who work transparently and correctly. We collaborate with them gladly. Their professionalism and care for their network brings them hundreds of properties because owners trust them — and that trust is earned.

They work hard, often trying to educate stubborn or problematic landlords.

And trust us — we know that battle.

Just this week we had multiple calls with an owner who will only accept a Spanish payroll as guarantee. Their head simply cannot wrap around anything else.

So yes… the housing market has its characters.

To the professionals doing things properly:
Thank you. You are raising the standard.

But pretending the darker side doesn’t exist would be dishonest.

If you’re relocating to Spain, understand this:

The market contains both integrity and cold opportunism.

From the outside, they can look identical.

And when you’re new here, that difference can cost you thousands.

(Literally — we’ve prevented clients from losing thousands in abusive deposits.)

Transparency isn’t an attack.

It’s protection (and decency).

And we love seeing clients who would rather adjust their criteria than reward parasitic practices.

Because the market only improves when the wrong behaviour stops being profitable. These professionals are making a difference.

And we will always stand with the side that plays clean. 💎

🌊 Another Calm Water (To Soften the Tough Love)

Friday Classics:

Client hires us to manage a process.

We explain clearly what is required.

Then comes the collaborative part:

📑 a signature
📌 requested confirmation
📬 one missing paper

And suddenly… resistance.

Delays.
Silence.
Then frustration:

“This is so bureaucratic.”
“Spain is absurd.”

Here’s my reflection:

We all order things on Amazon without drama.
We enter our address.
We confirm details.
We add payment method.
We acceot T&C without reading them 😁

Because we understand that without an address, nothing arrives. It´s not absurd, it´s logical.

Spain is not unique in this.
Every country has requirements.
Every system has structure.
Every procedure needs documentation.

You cannot want the outcome while refusing the input.

We can guide you.
We can prepare everything.
We can deal with offices and translate and explain.

But we cannot complete your part for you. Resisting is possible but it´ll drain you.

Relocation is cooperation. Integration is acceptance (where possible).
