Dear VagabunDOGs supporters
This email is to update you on the current critical position VagabunDOGs finds itself in and to appeal for your help.
As you know we launched ourselves as a registered charity on the 1st of March 2012 in order to help needy animals
in Spain and Portugal and our successes in the beginning were great. To date we have arranged homes for over 300
dogs and puppies and over 70 cats and kittens with many waiting to travel to their new homes. Without the support of
donations and the hard work of the fund-raising team and the many volunteers who care for the animals on a daily basis
this would not have been possible and for these animals their lives have changed forever.
Unfortunately we have now run extremely low on funds but our costs have escalated due to the cost of preparing animals
to go to their new homes ( vaccinations, microchips, passports and travel costs and of course the cost of feeding them
while in our care) and also due to taking on special needs cases which we could not turn a blind eye to. Without money
we will not be able to continue our work as we have to pay professionals, such as the vets, to help us in our work. All the
vets we work with give us a greatly reduced fee so they are also helping us in their way to continue to help all the needy
dogs and cats.
You may know we have helped many dogs and cats in desperate need but unfortunately we now have some animals waiting
for treatment who we cannot help right now, such as Melody the cat with nose cancer. We are also unable to rescue puppies
in need in the Ayamonte Zoo and other killing stations due to a lack of funds and also, a lack of foster homes where we can
care for these animals.
We are requesting that all our supporters become official members of VagabunDOGs and for them to fill in the Association
membership form and commit to a regular monthly donation. Even 10 euros a month will make a difference and collectively
it will make a big difference. If we had this guaranteed funding then the work done by the fund raisers could be used for
special cases. We appreciate that the volunteers give a lot of time and indirectly money as well but we unfortunately need to
have funds in the bank to cover our monthly costs.
Please would you consider becoming a member and committing a small monthly donation to support us in our effort to save
as many animals as possible in the local area and to give them the chance of a life worth living. Would you please pass this
information on to anyone you feel would be interested in being a regular supporter of our hard work.
Attached please find a membership form to be filled in and then emailed back to us or sent to the address at the bottom of the
form. If you prefer you can set up a monthly direct debit through your bank for the amount you would like to pay. If you do this,
could you just indicate on the form that you will set up the DD yourself?
