It's Mardi Gras time in Baza, Granada! Get your costumes ready. Saturday, 7 February. The parade starts at 7pm in the Baza town square. €3500 in prizes for the best individual, duo/trio and group costumes. The parade is followed by 3 bands playing and food and drinks in a heated tent from 8.30pm until late at the Parque de la Constitution Park.

Baza celebra el Carnaval el sábado 7 de febrero, con desfile, fiesta infantil en el pabellón de deportes, Gran Fiesta en la carpa climatizada y concurso de disfraces con 3.500 euros en premios.
El sábado 7 de febrero el Carnaval inundará de fiesta y disfraces las calles de Baza para el disfrute de pequeños y mayores. La concejalía de Cultura del Ayuntamiento ha preparado una serie de actividades para contribuir a que esta celebración sea más grande y pueda llegar a todos. Habrá concentración de disfraces, desfile por el centro de la ciudad, fiesta infantil, Gran Fiesta de Carnaval y, por supuesto, el esperado y siempre sorprendente Concurso de Disfraces, que esta edición cuenta con 3.500 euros en premios y que ya tiene abierto el plazo para inscribirse en la Casa de la Cultura, donde se recogerá el número con el que participarán los aspirantes a los galardones. Las bases se encuentran ya publicadas en el Tablón de Anuncios de la web municipal. Hay de plazo hasta la noche del viernes 6 de febrero. Ve preparando tu disfraz…
El sábado 7 de febrero comenzará todo a las 18:30h. con la concentración en la Plaza Mayor. Cuando estemos todos, a eso de las 19:00h. se pondrá en marcha el Desfile en dirección a la zona del Pabellón de Deportes y que recorrerá las siguientes calles: Plaza Mayor, Carril, Plaza San Francisco, Alamillos, Caños Dorados, Antonio Machado, Enrique Enríquez, Miguel Hernández, Avda. José de Mora, Pintor Velázquez, Cádiz y David Valero, a las puertas del pabellón. A esa hora ya habrá comenzado la Fiesta Infantil en el interior del pabellón con hinchables, animación musical, talleres, etc. etc. A las 20:00h., en la carpa climatizada que se instalará en la explanada de la piscina cubierta, que para esa fecha se espera que está asfaltada, comenzará la Gran Fiesta de Carnaval con música de diferentes estilos durante toda la velada: Alarife orquesta, Retromanía, Fitipaldis Band (tributo a Fito y Fitipaldi) y Dj Edu Respire. Minutos antes de la medianoche se dará a conocer el resultado del Concurso de Disfraces y se entregarán los premios.
Para el Concurso de Disfraces del Carnaval de Baza 2026 se establecen tres categorías con diferentes premios. La “individual” tendrá dos premios: 150 euros para el primero y 50 euros para el segundo. La categoría “pareja o trío” ofrecerá tres premios: 300 euros al primero, 200 euros al segundo y 100 euros al tercero. Y la categoría “grupal”, con cuatro premios: 1.000 euros recibirá el primero, 750 euros el segundo, 500 euros el tercero y 300 euros el cuarto clasificado. Además, se incluye un premio “especial” a criterio del jurado que recibirá 150 euros. El jurado estará compuesto por los concejales miembros de la comisión informativa de Cultura y por un representante de los grupos participantes.
