What is the Romería de la Fuensanta?

The Romería honours the Virgen de la Fuensanta, the patron saint of Coín. Saturday – The Main Romería Parade

The celebrations begin on Saturday morning with the traditional departure from Plaza Alameda.

Saturday Schedule

* 10:00am – Romería parade leaves Plaza Alameda with the blessing of the pilgrims and carriages.
* Throughout the day – Music, traditional dress, horses, food, and celebrations at the Fuensanta countryside area.

Expect colourful decorated carts, flamenco dresses, Andalusian horses, and a fantastic festive atmosphere throughout the town centre before everyone heads towards the Fuensanta area.

Sunday – Tradition and Celebration Continue

On Sunday, the celebrations continue with competitions and the traditional return of the Virgin.

* 12:00pm – Voting for the best decorated carriage.
* Late afternoon – The Virgen de la Fuensanta is transferred to the cave before returning to the Parish of San Juan with the winning carriage. (Coin)
