Creative Concept Management were recently asked to get their creative juices flowing to redesign a cramped and inadequately lit bathroom in an apartment on Los Olivos, HDA. The existing dividing wall between the W.C. and the shower was insubstantial and flimsy, and the fixings for the existing double sinks were also insecure. While the bathroom was perfectly functional, the clients coveted a modern bathroom and tasked CCM with creating something that had a ‘wow’ factor.

Initially, the dividing wall and some return walls were removed, as was the bidet, and everything stripped back to open up the space. The walls were then tiled with stunning, brighter, marble-effect, high gloss tiles to reflect and throw light around the bathroom. The tiles feature an attractive range of matching light grey colours contrasted with the marbling detail that is highlighted by darker greys and black.

A carefully fitted mirror with LED lighting was installed to further illuminate the bathroom in an unobtrusive way while again optimising the benefit of additional reflected light. A sleek, modern, white double-sink unit with crisp lines was installed, as was a modern W.C. and a stylish square, chrome, showerhead.

The newly spacious shower cubicle draws you in with its gorgeous, warm, marble effect tiles in welcoming oceanic blues that create a striking contrast with the cooler grey tiling throughout the remainder of the bathroom.

A more imposing and permanent dividing wall has been constructed between the W.C. and the shower cubicle with the clever addition of a frosted glass screen built into the wall with LED lights to illuminate both sides.

The finished effect is light, bright, smart, classy, and welcoming. CCM are delighted that the client loves the bathroom which most definitely met the brief to create a modern spacious bathroom with an undeniable ‘wow’ factor.

Featured below are some photos of jobs nearing completion, and recently completed, by Creative Concept Management.

The hand-crafted pergola is a wonderful example of the considerable carpentry skills available within CCM while the decorative star and compass tiling showcases the company's tiling skills. With matching new tiles no longer available, the clever and innovative compass design provided a stylish and visually stunning workaround to the shortage of matching replacement tiles, effectively highlighting the creative thinking and problem solving skills that CCM puts at its client's disposal.

An artificial turf installation has recently been completed providing a more usable outdoor space for the clients, while also softening the visual impact of the existing hard landscaping.

Further afield, a terrace transformation to freshen up an outdoor space in Los Urrutias featuring a new pergola, bar area and terrace planter is nearing completion.

Closer to home, the removal of a whirlpool bath and the seamless installation and integration of a strikingly attractive, classically-styled walk-in shower has been completed. The contrasting and complementary nature of the floor and wall tiles for size, texture and colour has created a unique, sleek and chic shower facility.

In addition to our core business clients on Hacienda del Alamo, the last couple of months has seen CCM creating magic in La Manga Club and adding stardust to properties in Puerto de Mazarron.

Closer to home, Creative Concept Management has been improving two properties, conveniently located back-to-back, repairing pool pipework in one while another team simultaneously laid top-grade artificial turf in the other property. Sadly, the previously fitted artificial turf didn’t last well and it failed to survive the harsh Murcian weather conditions. The artificial grass CCM fit in gardens and outdoor spaces is of the highest grade. It is imported from Italy, and comes with an 8 year guarantee, thus providing homeowners with considerable peace of mind.

The eclectic collection of attached photos shows the teams regrouting pools, laying bespoke terraces, as well as redesigning and fitting new showers and bathrooms. Leaky, damaged, and blocked, pool piping has been replaced, pool-surrounds have been regrouted and freshened up, and deposit wind pump systems installed to improve water pressure… handy timing to take advantage of the current blowy weather conditions.

Living up to the ‘Creative’ part of the company name, CCM were tasked with undertaking some tile repairs to an outdoor terrace but typically, the tiles that needed replacing had been discontinued. The ‘creative concept’ involved designing and incorporating a compass design within the existing terrace using new tiles that matched and complimented the current tiles. This allowed some of the older tiles to be recovered, reclaimed, refurbished and re-utilised. The new design featuring the compass looks a million dollars and was a more cost-effective solution than having to replace the entire terrace.

The dry and gloriously sunny winter this year encouraged many owners on HDA to move forward with their planned swimming pool refurbishments and other outdoor projects. Hence, CCM has been mega-busy since Christmas with pool tile regrouting and other essential swimming pool maintenance and improvement tasks. Ensuring prompt completion of these numerous projects, while maintaining progress on existing refurbishments, left us with not enough time to post as often as we would like.

However, having finally found time to catch our breath, we thought it would be an ideal moment to update and show the progress on the garden redesign in Calle Egipto which is scheduled to be completed in April. Many will recall that we showed the plans for the complete refurbishment of the garden in a post at the back end of last year.

Unfortunately for the owners, a previous garden refurbishment had failed to stand the test of time and much remedial work was clearly necessary. Having had Creative Concept Management completely redesign and refurbish the inside of the property to exceptionally high standards, with many one-off and bespoke items included, the owners wanted to ensure the quality of the property’s exterior matched that of the new interior. To achieve the desired quality, the existing hard landscaping had to be stripped out and removed with the garden being taken back to bare earth in many places.

The resulting blank canvas is being restored to a stunning, visually impressive, outdoor leisure and social area that requires minimum maintenance through carefully planned, innovative design, and construction. New water storage tanks, pump, and an automated irrigation system, have been installed as part of the early groundworks.

This large-scale, impressive project involves reconditioning the swimming pool; laying a modern, new pool surround; plus building an elegant circular shower for pool users. A rockery has been carefully crafted for architectural interest to wrap around the mature olive tree drawing the eye towards its natural beauty. A circular path then leads to a cobbled feature near to the newly built patio with a stylish, octagonal pergola finished with a mosaic tile trim.

Raised beds with hardy Mediterranean planting schemes will incorporate banquette-style seating, and grassed areas will be introduced to soften and contrast with the visual impact of the hard landscaped aspects of the garden.

To make the pool pump area less visually intrusive, an innovative and bespoke table has been designed, and individually made, to cover the pool pump box and pipework, creating an attractive dining area that is pleasing to the eye and functional. The 'piece de la resistance' of the garden leisure facilities is the outdoor kitchen, designed to encompass a gas barbecue, a drinks bar, and an authentic pizza oven.

Bespoke gates and panels are being manufactured to complete the well-designed and carefully constructed stylish major improvements to both the interior and exterior of this unique home.

CCM thought it would be good to show the final results of the transformation of the entranceway and frontage of a traditional Spanish house on which they've been working recently.

Previous posts showed the narrow entrance which made access difficult for vehicles and how the root systems of the long established palm trees and other planting had pushed up the paving. The dilapidated former animal shelter in the corner on the property frontage further reduced this beautiful home's kerb appeal.

Significant groundworks were required to clear the site, followed by compacted ballast, concreting and block paving to provide vehicle hard-standing, parking, and manoeuvering space, that will last for many, many years.

A small casita with wood store has been built on the site of the old animal shelter and a car port installed to protect vehicles from the elements. The roof of the car port is fitted with solar panels linked to a battery storage system for car charging and back-up power for the house.

The newly constructed front wall has bespoke railings and a bespoke sliding gate to ease vehicular access, with the walls being given a crisp, monocapa finish.

Overall, the frontage has been remodeled into a practical and easy-to-use space for people and vehicles with covered parking and solar collectors. The new wall, bespoke railing and sliding gate have created a stunningly atractive exterior to the property.

The first photo shows the old frontage while the second shows the groundworks in progress, the remainder show the amazing final result.

It can be interesting for people to see some of the skilled processes involved in achieving a successful property reformation such as the one CCM are undertaking on a dated Spanish property in Torre Pacheco which we featured a couple of weeks ago.

The entire frontage of the property has been redesigned to accommodate a more spacious and practical entrance, which maximises the kerb appeal of the home, while creating a look that is sympathetic and complimentary to neighbouring residences.

The eyecatching and handsome bespoke railings and sliding gate are handmade to ensure they blend well with nearby homes, as well as making their own sensational, standalone statement.

Creative Concept Management were installing the completed railings earlier this week and, once fully installed, will turn their attention to creating a crisp, clean, smooth, white monocapa finish to the walls so as to frame and highlight the beautiful, handcrafted railings.

The photos below, show the creation of the railings from initial pen drawings to completed project, plus some of CCM's wonderful busily installing them.

Back in July, we highlighted a major home improvement project in Calle Egipto which transformed the living areas, bathrooms, and kitchen. A thoughtful and imaginative combination of complementary and contrasting materials, colours and textures were used, alongside some feature bespoke, handcrafted items, to create a unique and elegant home.

Delighted with their upscale home interior, the clients asked CCM to redesign and revamp the outdoor spaces to match the high-end, quality, interior finishes. Disappointingly, their previous garden design had failed to stand the test of time. This time, the clients asked Creative Concept Management to apply their considerable expertise, and creative ideas, to help plan, excavate, and create a new garden that maximised the appeal and use of the outdoor areas.

The design needed to encompass a new irrigation and watering system throughout, plus installation of new electrical circuitry. Grassed areas will be introduced for their softening visual effect, and for practical uses, such as the placement of the outdoor table tennis table. New pathways, and a new pool surround, will provide convenient access to the outdoor facilities, and provide visual framing for the planned new rockery, and the raised beds that incorporate bench seating.

A fun but practical design element will be the ‘secret’ table with parasol shade that is functional while hiding from view the unsightly pool pump housing. Living the desirable, Mediterranean outdoor lifestyle, will be made easier thanks to the newly installed outdoor kitchen and bar, as well as the octagonal pergola that will provide some sun protection.

The kerb appeal of the property will be further enhanced by a whole new frontage with a modern wall in a crisp white finish, accessorised with attractive vertical slat railings. New access gates and an automated driveway gate will be installed to complete the transformation of this stunning home inside and out.

The attached photos show how the initial two-dimensional hand-drawn plans can be worked into modern computer-generated 3-D images to help clients visualise the finished product.

While CCM are always keen to show people the smart, exceptional quality finishes that we achieve on jobs, we thought it might be interesting to show the hard graft and effort that goes into the preparation of some sites from hand-drawn pre-plans to high-end completion.

Recently, we have been working on a gorgeous, traditional, characterful, Spanish property near Torre Pacheco with a narrow, tricky driveway entrance and grounds still containing the remnants of an ancient animal shelter. The outdoor space contained numerous long-standing palm trees and similar plants whose root systems covered the whole area, pushing up the existing hard-landscaped areas.

The clients want to create a small outhouse/casita, plus a lean-to carport, with the roof of the carport serving as a solar power collector with battery storage for car charging and back-up power for the house. In addition, a smart wall is being constructed fronting the road incorporating a 3.5m sliding gate to provide ample and generous access for vehicles. The hard standing to be block paved with attractive, hard-wearing, grey blocks.

As the photos show, root removal was a considerable task but, once cleared, the surface was then covered with compacted ballast before concreting and laying on the block paving. When finished, vehicles will be able to be driven on the surface. Proper preparation and the choice of quality materials used will ensure the project stands the test of time.

Over the coming weeks, bespoke railings will be fitted to the front of the property, the retracting gate will be fitted, and the walls completed in a crisp, clean monocapa finish.

Having seen the far from glamorous, dirty, and difficult site preparation work, Creative Concept Management will post the contrasting photos showing the completed works in all their glory over the coming weeks.

Ooops! The eagle-eyed among you may have spotted a faux-pas that we have just committed by allowing some recent promotional material to slip through with an uncorrected typo. Nik is trying to look at it positively by taking the line that overall, it must be a good thing if CCM is so busy that he can’t spare the time to do a careful proof-reading himself.

In life, many things can be described as happening ‘more by accident than design’. Unfortunately, on this occasion it seems it not only happened by ‘accident’ but also sadly by ‘desing’ rather than by ‘design’!

Regrettably, in this instance, the attention to detail on the promotional material failed to match the renowned attention to detail and fabulous finishes that CCM normally achieves in its professional work. If nothing else… hopefully, it raised a smile for some people.

It is busy times for all at Creative Concept management working on two major projects that require considerable groundworks and landscaping alterations before the creative elements of each project can be put into place. Experience has shown that only by having the correct structures in place can a stunning final result be achieved.

In addition to the above, CCM have been working on some smaller scale fast turnaround projects where owners are looking for the maximum visual impact to be achieved for a relatively conservative budget. Clever use of materials, texture, and colour can enable an impressive look to be achieved for an extremely reasonable price. It often comes down to creative and innovative design, utilising existing features, and having project managers that are motivated to achieve high-end finishes comparatively inexpensively.

A recent case in point that well demonstrates this approach was a bathroom conversion which involved stripping out an old bath, and removing a retaining wall to open up the space, before installing a large, modern, spacious, walk-in shower cubicle with modern fittings and accessories.

To avoid incurring unnecessary expense, the existing grey shower tray was retained and re-used, as were the existing beige tiles on the floor which were left in-situ. CCM sourced a classic grey tile that matched the existing shower tray and was ideal for tiling the new generously proportioned shower cubicle. The beige swirls in the grey tiles work well to complement the existing beige floor tiles. Mosaic grey and beige tiles were utilised in the creation of the shower step to help the eye seamlessly transfer from the floor to the shower tray, and then on to the wall.

For a modest outlay, the bathroom has been transformed and a brand new modern, luxurious look has been achieved. Please contact Creative Concept Management on +34 619 32 12 56 if you have a space that needs a modern, high-end, new look.
