And last but not least, our all time favorite restaurant, La Escollera.
La Escollera is open all year round. It is located in Es Cavallet, the most beautiful spot on the island, as close to the sea as you can get.
You want it? You got it. Panoramic views across the Mediterranean Sea, multiple shaded wooden-decked terraces, a cool, open plan indoor dining space, tables in the sand, a chill out lounge area, cocktail bar, the friendliest staff and a warm, family-run vibe – and then there’s the food!
Famous for their paellas, choose between fish and sea food, mixed, carabineers, lobster, chicken and rabbit or even an option for vegetarians and vegans: the incredibly tasty vegetable paella with rosemary. Delicious with a jug of ice cold Sangria de cava.
Highly recommended are the wild sea bass in crust of coarse sea salt from the neighboring salt-flats, the ‘Gallo San Pedro’ (oven baked John Dory served with Ibicenco-style potatoes), and the ‘Boquerones Mami’ (anchovies), all made from original recipes courtesy of owner Daniel Gonzalez’s mother that have stood the test of time – almost 20 years. For the more modern palates, the crispy Californian sushi, the Thai style chicken, the tuna sashimi and the vegan quinoa salad with mango and avocado aim to please.
