MALAGA PROVINCE MOVES INTO PHASE THREE TODAY - MONDAY 8TH JUNE

Malaga province moves into Phase Three of coronavirus lockdown easing along with the rest of Andalucía on Monday.

The Health Minister announced on Friday that all of the regions that had requested a move would be proceeding to the next phase in the staged plan towards Spain's "new normal".

While the provinces of Malaga and Granada were only promoted to Phase Two of lockdown easing this week, the regional government had called for Madrid to allow all eight Andalusian provinces to progress to Phase Three this coming Monday 8 June.

It was important to avoid a two-speed Andalucía, it argued.

Phase Three relaxes the Covid-19 state of alarm restrictions even further.

Personal movement. All time slots for outdoor exercise will be removed. Gatherings permitted up to 20 people. Movement allowed within region of Andalucía .

Bars, cafeterias and restaurants. Interiors to 50% capacity. Bar service at two-metre intervals. Terraces to 75%.

Shops and services. To 50% capacity including in shopping centres. Probably gyms as well. Communal and recreational areas in shopping centres to 40% capacity

Culture. Museums, libraries, theatre, cinemas, etc to 50%

Home working. Still encouraged where possible

Mobility between regions will still not be permitted until at least the state of alarm is over, on June 22. The emergency measures were implemented by the government on March 14 in a bid to slow the spread of the coronavirus, and have been renewed by the Congress of Deputies on a two-weekly basis since then. The central government has committed to leaving the last stage of the deescalation process in the hands of each region.

Spain reveals full plan to lift lock-down restrictions

Preparation Phase 0 (May 4-11)
* Hairdressers and other businesses that offer service by appointment can reopen.
* Restaurants can offer takeaway meals.
* Professional sports leagues, such as La Liga, can return to training.

Phase 1 (from May 11)
* All provinces that meet health status requirements will move to phase 1 on May 11, except La Gomera, El Hierro and La Graciosa in the Canary Islands, and Formentera, in the Balearics, where phase 1 begins on May 4.
* Small businesses to reopen under strict safety conditions.
* Bars and restaurants can allow customers to use terraces with no more than 30 per cent occupation.
* Hotels and other tourist accommodation can reopen, except for communal areas, such as dining rooms.
* Shops and other service providers must set aside preferential times for customers aged over 65 to visit.
* Places of worship will also be reopened, limiting the capacity to one third.

Phase 2 (from late May)
* Theatres and cinemas to resume, at a third of capacity.
* Centres such as art galleries and museums will reopen, again operating only at a third of regular capacity.
* Places of worship can increase their capacity to 50 per cent
* Hunting and sport fishing will be allowed.
* Some schools will reopen, though most will stay closed until September.

Phase 3 (end of June)
* Shops will be allowed to open at half capacity with social distancing measures keeping customers two metres apart.
* Restrictions on restaurants and bars will be further loosened.
* Beaches will re-open.
