A quick but important post for everyone living here.

In this month's Manilva Life, editor Gary Beaumont leads with something that genuinely matters for our international community: the municipal elections, and why foreign residents shouldn't wait to get their voting registration in order.

Many of us remember how confusing 2023 was, a short registration window, several forms, and deadlines that caught people out, British nationals in particular.

Gary makes an important point and one we'd echo: don't become complacent. If you've made your home in Manilva, Sabinillas, Duquesa or Castillo, your voice belongs in the decisions about how this place is run, and that starts with being on the electoral census.

The good news is that help is on the way.

Manilva Life is about to launch a new website and social media project called "Manilva Extranjeros 2027," which will set out clearly how local elections in Spain work, who is eligible to vote, how to register, the key deadlines, and what the voting process actually looks like.
