🇪🇸 DID YOU KNOW THIS ABOUT THE BULLRING IN MIJAS PUEBLO?
Tucked away amongst the beautiful whitewashed streets of Mijas Pueblo is one of the village’s most distinctive landmarks — Plaza de Toros de Mijas.
But there are a few things about it you might not know… 👀
🐂 It dates back to 1900, making it more than 125 years old.
⭕ Unlike most traditional Spanish bullrings, it isn’t perfectly circular — its unusual oval shape makes it instantly recognisable.
⛰️ Built into the hillside, its location gives it a character completely different from the huge bullrings you might associate with cities such as Málaga or Seville.
🏘️ It sits right in the heart of historic Mijas Pueblo, surrounded by the narrow streets, traditional Andalusian architecture and incredible viewpoints that make the village so special.
📸 Today, it’s also an interesting place to visit simply for its history and architecture, offering a glimpse into another side of Mijas and its past.
Whether you’re interested in history, photography, architecture or simply love discovering something different on holiday, it’s another little piece of Mijas Pueblo worth exploring.
Have you ever visited the bullring? 🇪🇸☀️
