A little taste of beach life at Hola Ola Mojácar ☀️🌊

There’s a Spanish word worth knowing: chiringuito. It means a beach bar, and around here, it’s a very good place to spend a lazy afternoon. A table by the sea, something good to eat and time to enjoy it all. 🍹

Hola Ola fits that mood perfectly. Great food and a laid-back atmosphere that makes you want to stay a little longer. Come hungry, take your time and enjoy being by the Mediterranean. 🍽️🏖️

For me, places like this are part of what makes Mojácar so easy to love. Lunch can be the main plan for the afternoon, with no rush to move on.

Guadix - a day trip from Mojácar with a different side of Andalucía ♥️

What if you traded the Mediterranean for a landscape of clay hills, white chimneys and homes hidden beneath the ground? Around a two-hour drive from Mojácar, Guadix makes a memorable day trip into the heart of Granada province.

Start in the Barrio de las Cuevas, the town’s famous cave quarter. At first, you may see little more than doors set into the hillside and chimneys rising from the earth. Then you realise that many of these caves are still homes. Stop at Mirador del Padre Poveda to take in this extraordinary neighbourhood, and visit the cave interpretation centre if you’d like to see what life inside a cave house is like.

Afterwards, head into the old town. Wander around Guadix Cathedral, find a spot for a leisurely lunch, and make time for the Alcazaba, the hilltop fortress overlooking the city and its surrounding landscape. If you enjoy a good viewpoint, the cathedral tower offers another way to see Guadix from above. Check opening times before you travel if you plan to go inside.

Guadix feels wonderfully different from a day on the coast. It’s a chance to leave Mojácar in the morning, explore centuries of history and one of Andalucía’s most unusual neighbourhoods, and be back by the sea for the evening.

A Walk from Mojácar to Macenas Mediterranean Resort 🌊

A beautiful walk along the coast, with the Mediterranean on one side and Mojácar’s rugged landscape on the other. Sunshine, sea views, quiet paths and plenty of perfect spots to stop and enjoy the scenery.

The route from Mojácar to Macenas Mediterranean Resort is a wonderful way to experience this part of the coast at a slower pace. Sometimes the best way to discover Mojácar is simply to keep walking… ☀️🚶‍♂️
