About 5 minutes’ drive outside the bustling village of Montoro, along a rural track and fording two small rivers, sits Cortijo Loma Rosero in its own glorious rolling olive groves. The property was built in 2012 to the current owner’s specification and the attention to detail is evident throughout.
The house is divided into two parts: the lower ground floor is a completely self-contained apartment of very generous proportions with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and large open-plan living area. The upper ground floor is the main house, and this has 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and more generous living spaces. In all, the property is large with open and airy spaces, designed to take in the spectacular views and communicate with the gorgeous surrounding landscape. The land slopes gently down to the banks of the Guadalquivir River, and there are 1200 productive olive trees dotted across the pastures. Above the house, the land borders the Parque Natural Sierra de Cardeña y Montoro.

Main House

The entrance to the main house is at the rear of the property, completely separate from the lower ground floor apartment. There is a walled patio garden with swimming pool.

Hallway and entrance porch. A door from the hall opens onto a huge terrace that runs the length of the house and takes in the panoramic views of the valley.

The double-height main living room is enormous: an open-plan sitting/dining room and large kitchen with plenty of space for entertaining. Large sliding doors open from the living area onto the terrace and the views from here are wonderful. There is a wood-burning stove in the living area, and open-tread timber stairs lead up to the Mezzanine TV room/library.

On this upper level, there is one of the 4 bedrooms, and this room has access to a capacious under-eaves storage area.

Back on the ground floor of the main house, there are three large bedrooms and two bathrooms, one of which is ensuite to the principal bedroom. The principle bedroom has a high timber beamed ceiling and a range of built-in wardrobes.

Apartment

On the lower ground floor, there is a separate entrance to the self-contained apartment, and there has been no skimping on size here either. This is lovely accommodation: bright and spacious and very private from the main house above.

Generous hallway with access to a utility room and separate store room.

2 large bedrooms, and an immaculate bathroom.

The main reception room is, once again, a large living/dining area with open-plan kitchen and doors onto a private, walled terrace. The living room has a wood-burning stove.

As either accommodation for a member of the family or for use as a holiday rental property (subject to obtaining a tourism license) this is a fabulous addition to the property.

Outside

Beneath the main house, there is an enormous garage that houses the machinery for the energy system and heating, and back-up generator. As well as having plenty of room for parking vehicles, there is a large workshop at the far end.

The house has numerous terraces arranged around the accommodation and there are entrance gates to the property.

The land extends to over 8 hectares (83,183 m2) with 1,200 olive trees and meadowland that has remained uncultivated. It is a magical location, sloping gently down from the treeline of the natural park to the banks of Guadalquivir River - the river that eventually finds its way through Sevilla and on to the coast.
