Three very different real estate options in the same window today (complete with reflections of me taking the pictures). 1 square metre is about 10 square feet, and 14,200 square metres is about 3½ acres.
You can see that you don't necessarily need a huge amount of money to live in Mallorca if you are prepared to make some choices. (There were plenty of places for over a million Euros, of course.)
Prices typically include the agent's fee, but you would need to add about 10% on top for taxes and notary's fees.
In addition, if a non-EU citizen were to buy the first property, they would probably require permission from the Spanish Ministry of Defence, due to a Franco-era law that doesn't allow foreigners to own land "near" military facilities, which in Mallorca means anywhere outside a built-up area. They could have just repealed this law when democracy came, but for some reason it was kept; they just had to remove EU citizens from "foreigners".
