Cloudy day in Fuerteventura? It could be the perfect day to explore further afield.
Visit Oasis Wildlife, browse the shops or try something a little different, like a trike tour. There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the beach.
I put this guide together for guests staying at Litha House, and I’m happy to share it with anyone looking for ideas for their next day out.

Cloudy in Caleta? Don’t worry!
There’s loads to do in Caleta de Fuste when the clouds roll in.
Have a look at my Cloudy Days Guide for some simple suggestions — from feeding the fish down at the marina or having a game of crazy golf, to chilling in a bar with a quiz or a bit of bingo.
I’ve even included a link to Real FM’s Weekly Live Entertainment Guide, so you can see what’s happening in Caleta’s bars while you’re here.

SELF-CATERING SHOULD MEAN SELF-CATERING. 🍳
Having just stayed in a holiday home myself, I've been reminded of one of the frustrations of self-catering — opening the cupboards to find one knife, one rather questionable pan and nothing big enough to put a salad in!
It also reminded me why the kitchen at Litha House is equipped the way it is.
I know you can cook a full Christmas dinner at Litha House and still have pans to spare — because I have. 🎄
But let's face it, most of us aren't planning Christmas dinner every night of our holiday.
We love eating out too. But sometimes, after a lazy day in the sunshine, it's lovely to put together a charcuterie board or a few picky plates, open a bottle of w**e and have a relaxed, sociable meal in your PJs.
After all, you're on holiday.
So whether you're making breakfast before the beach, throwing together a salad, preparing dinner for six or cooking the full works, you'll find a kitchen at Litha House that you can actually use.
That's one of the differences of being owner-operated. We know the house. We use it. And we think about the things our guests might actually need.
Your holiday. Your way.
Fancy a holiday where self-catering really does mean self-catering? Take a look around Litha House and check your dates 👇

SWAP WINTER AT HOME FOR WINTER SUN IN FUERTEVENTURA

A week in the sunshine is lovely.

But sometimes a week just isn't long enough.

If you're dreaming about escaping the cold for 2, 3 or even 4 weeks, Litha House is somewhere you can properly settle into — not just somewhere to sleep between days at the beach.

3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms
A proper, fully equipped kitchen — so longer stays don't mean eating out every night
Plenty of space to relax and make yourself at home
Six sun loungers exclusively for our guests
Communal swimming pool
Wi-Fi
An easy walk to the beach, harbour, shops, bars and restaurants of Caleta de Fuste

Stay for longer and you can unpack, shop locally, cook when you want to, eat out when you fancy it and enjoy Fuerteventura at your own pace.

Our 2027 prices are already available, and we're giving our direct guests the best opportunity to secure the dates they want.

So if a few weeks of Fuerteventura sunshine sounds better than another few weeks of grey skies at home, take a look at Litha House.

More sunshine. More space. More time to enjoy it.

Supermarkets on holiday… not exactly the glamorous part. 😂
But one of the questions I’m often asked as a holiday-home owner is: “Where’s the best place to do a proper food shop?”
Having just spent a week away myself, I was reminded how useful it is to know the answer.
I’m definitely a one big shop at the start of the holiday person. Get the fridge stocked, buy what we need for the week, put it all away — and then relax and enjoy the holiday. If we run out of milk, bread or something particular later, that’s what the local shops are for.
The problem when you arrive somewhere new is knowing which supermarket is worth going to and what you’ll find there.
So I’ve put together my Shopping for Self-Catering Guide to Caleta de Fuste.
It’s based on the sort of questions my own Litha House guests ask me and is designed to make that first holiday shop a little easier — whether you’re staying at Litha House or anywhere else self-catering in Caleta.
Boring? Maybe.
Useful when you’ve just arrived, and you don’t want to spend half your first day figuring out where to shop.

And if you know Caleta well, where do you do your first holiday shop?
