Tuesday brings a very divided weather picture across Spain. While the north-west turns wet and unsettled, much of central, eastern and southern Spain faces another very hot and largely dry day. 🌡️⛈️
🌧️ Rain returns to the north-west
Galicia, Asturias and parts of Castilla y León are in line for the main rainfall. Around 11–18 mm is indicated for A Coruña, Vigo, Lugo and Gijón, with around 8 mm near León and 5 mm around Zamora. The rain weakens considerably towards the Basque Country, while most of central, southern and Mediterranean Spain should remain dry.
🔥 Heat remains the big story elsewhere
Temperatures climb well into the mid and upper 30s across large areas:
38°C in Córdoba, Sevilla and Murcia, around 37°C in Zaragoza, Lleida and Albacete, 36°C in Huelva and Granada, and approximately 35°C in Madrid, Toledo, Valencia and Teruel.
The Mediterranean coast remains hot too, although sea breezes provide some moderation in places: around 31°C in Barcelona, 32°C in Benidorm and 30°C in Málaga and the Balearics. Almería is noticeably cooler at around 27°C. 🌴🏖️
💨 Strong wind gusts in the north
Wind will also deserve attention, particularly across northern and north-eastern Spain. Gusts could reach around 74 km/h near Bilbao, 71 km/h around Baqueira and 65 km/h near Zaragoza. Pamplona may see gusts around 52 km/h, while conditions are generally less windy along the southern and Mediterranean coasts.
⚠️ So today’s contrasts are striking: wet and windy in the north-west, very hot and dry across much of the interior, south and east. If you're spending the day outdoors in the hotter regions, seek shade during the afternoon and keep hydrated. 💧
☀️ For many holidaymakers along the Mediterranean and southern coasts, it remains a mostly dry beach-weather day, but the heat inland will be intense.
