Arriving back to Villa Helene we had some friendly inhabitants in the garden. Did you know in Menorca the tortoises are wild and if you are lucky you may see them out and about. We have one regular one which my kids have named Turt. The second tortoise was named Scratch and his shell was a little scuffed. He was very friendly and practically snached the tomato out of my hand! Turt has spent the last year living under the blue plumbago plant, drinking water from the sprinkler system and I suspect, when I am not looking, eating my hibiscus flowers!!

A Trip to Hauser & Wirth Art gallery and island is a really lovely way to spend a day or half day of your holiday.
The boat trip is very scenic and relaxing as you travel out of the Mahon harbour and return a different route around the far side of the island. This gives a completely different view of Mahon harbour from the sea.
When I visited the gallery, the boat ticket cost 15 Euros return and entrance to the gallery was free. There is a restaurant under the Olive trees to enjoy your surroundings and the building that houses the gallery is stunning. You can finish your trip with a walk around the island and a visit to the old hospital building.
A really great trip out even if you are not a big art fan.

Fabulous at Binibeca, especially in the morning. Sad the beach bar is closed but happy to be back on my favorite seat to look at this spectacular view.

I thought I would post a small selection of the flowers we have in our garden. Mediterranean gardening is relatively new to us but we enjoy it very much. We definitely need and appreciate the help of our wonderful gardeners who not only laugh at our crazy ideas but keep the garden developing and maturing every year.
