Property Search in Mallorca – Finca or Townhouse!
The island is so fantastic and offers endless possibilities to enjoy life to the fullest. When you've decided to visit the island not just for vacation, but to purchase your own property, you find yourself in the wonderful position of being able to make decisions. Which area, which location, which type of house – many aspects that you have to clarify for yourself. Making the right choice isn't always easy. Once you've chosen your preferred region on the island, you have to decide whether to buy a finca or a townhouse. Both options have their appeal, and I found myself in this situation. Although the whole family wanted a finca for many years, it ultimately (fortunately) became a townhouse. The reasons were varied but ultimately convincing. We asked ourselves the following questions: Do you want to permanently maintain a large property of several thousand square meters if you don't live on the finca year-round? Isn't the wonderful solitude too lonely if your wife and daughters want to spend time alone on the finca? Do you want to get in the car for every shopping trip and every restaurant visit and spend some time driving to your desired destination? The answers were ultimately easy for our family, and so we ended up with a beautiful townhouse in an idyllic location with a great view and a manageable garden. We often meet property buyers who are looking for a home and are having a hard time making a decision. Is there a perfect solution?
No, ultimately, each family will have to weigh it up for themselves. It's noticeable that prospective buyers who have little island experience have particular difficulty making a decision. At least, that's the observation of the real estate agents I've spoken to.
But not all townhouses are created equal. If you have a townhouse in Santanyi, for example, it's usually surrounded by many other houses, and there's no peace and quiet or a distant view. Things are different with our project in Ses Salines. This idyllic location, with all amenities such as restaurants, shops, and amenities, is in close proximity to Santanyi and very close to Es Trenc beach and all the other beautiful options this area in the southeast of the island offers. The houses are located on the side street of Marina Gran on the outskirts of the village, in a quiet setting and neighborhood. Since the houses have unobstructed sea views of the island of Carbrera and a small but beautiful garden with the option of storing your boat in the winter, the difference from the classic finca ambiance is not that great. Furthermore, great emphasis was placed on sound reduction and soundproofing in the houses, so that the desired tranquility is also carried into the house.
So the question is not only whether to choose a finca or a townhouse, but also whether it should be a quiet townhouse with finca charm.
We are now looking forward to welcoming the people and families who will be moving in.
