Cortijo los Lobos is an exclusive holiday retreat with horse riding on site, plus heated pool, set in the beautiful olive groves and pine clad national park area of Andalucia, Southern Spain, just 40 minutes from Granada and Malaga airports. Our breathtaking mountain views and spectacular rural location offers our holiday guests a truly memorable and relaxing holiday. Our much loved herd of horses started as a few horses for our own family to ride, but, over the years our herd has grown, as we have felt unable to resist rescuing horses, when we hear of a sad story. Consequently we are always on the look out for ways to raise money to care for our herd of 13, and our holidays help towards this, so please book a holiday with us, you won't regret it :) We train all our horses using positive reinforcement, especially beneficial for our abused, nervous rescue horses who sometimes come to us never having known kindness before. It is so satisfying to turn a sad, scared horse into a trusting companion

What a difference a day makes - yesterday we were at the beach, swimming in the warm sea and having lunch with mum, dad, Lily, Martin and the girls and Martin's parents. We came home to find poor Milly had obviously been stressed at being left and had scratched a newly painted door to bits 😭. It's hard for her to adjust to not only being an only dog for the first time in her 13 years but getting used to Lily and family not being here anymore, bless her. Despite it being a lovely warm evening we could see the cloud coming in and this morning we woke to rain at last! You could almost hear the garden sighing with relief. It was a good day to get on with decorating and I had a great view from the top of the step ladder when I was painting a window frame 🥰.

This weekend after a bit of decorating we moved back into the main farmhouse kitchen and the apartment is ready for guests. We really loved our two and a half years in the apartment but it's lovely to have all this space back 🥰

Our gorgeous weather is just going on and on, it couldn't have been more perfect for our friend June. We took her to Nerja to meet up with Mum and Dad and had lunch at Lily's. People were already swimming in the sea when we got there at 10.30 am and the water was crystal clear. Our lovely guests in the secret garden offered to look after Milly while we were out and sent this photo of her looking very cute and happy 😊. Yesterday I took them for an early morning ride/walk - little Lucy had a lovely time. Last night we had a last meal with June at the fantastic El Ventero de Trabuco - June was very impressed with her langoustines. Today we carried on with the maintenance and decorating in the main farmhouse, ready to move back in very soon. The pomegranates are ready to eat and the oleanders are still in flower 🌺.

Yesterday we went to beautiful central Málaga and explored the maze of narrow streets in the old town with the pretty old buildings. We went to the Picasso museum and the nearby music art museum, had a lovely lunch by the Roman theatre and cathedral and then came home for a cooling swim , accompanied by Bella 🥰.

After taking guests on an early morning ride we drove to nearby Iznajar for a lovely walk around the pretty town followed by a gorgeous lunch at - we never take for granted how lucky we are to have so many beautiful places within a short drive of
