Une petite précision, car nous avons reçu de nombreuses demandes concernant les réservations à Ophelia Jane cet été : l'établissement sera fermé aux clients en raison d'obligations familiales, mais rouvrira en septembre avant de fermer à nouveau jusqu'au printemps prochain !
Passez un excellent été : mangez, buvez, faites la fête, détendez-vous, mais surtout, profitez de toutes les merveilles que cette magnifique région de France a à offrir. De la part de l'équipe d'Ophelia Jane 😎🐾🥂🇫🇷

Said goodbye to our lovely guests from Paris today and next guests arrive next Friday for a few days of chilling ,walking stargazing!
And then we will be closing the hut for June ,July and August as we have friends and family all wanting to visit this summer ! 😎🥂🌻
We will open again for any last minute breaks Sept to end of Oct ‘26’

Getting the shepherd hut ready a little earlier than usual this year. We normally open in April, but a wonderful request from a French lady changed that. She wanted to surprise her brother with a birthday stay — his dream has always been to spend a night in a shepherd’s hut.
So today we are preparing everything while looking out at this beautiful view across the fields of the Lot-et-Garonne.
Moments like this remind us why we love sharing this little corner of the countryside with our guests.

Out with the old and in with the breeze blocks! 4 of the original raised beds were pretty rotten so have merged the beds and used the blocks instead - not as pretty but I will plant herbs and marigolds in the holes ! So organic spuds planted leeks planted so far as it’s still early here in S/W France . And we have our firsts guests arriving in less than two weeks !

I’m feeling quite Autumnal today and I’m in the mood for French onion soup ! I have many cookery books especially French and one of my favourite is The French Kitchen by Joanne Harris .
