Cycling Review Number 3

A 30km bike ride written by my father, Frank Goater. The ride starts from the front door of the cottage.

I cycled through the lanes through mainly quiet countryside. I went through the village of La Chappelle St Etienne, over the Sevre Nantaise river twice and into the small town of Moncoutant. There was a main road section and then I cycled through the Pescalis Fishing Centre with views of fishing lakes in a beautiful valley.

Lovely lanes to Moutiers and Chantemerle. I took the road into the forest and then returned to the cottage with far reaching views over the Vendee countryside. All the way I had views of the rural landscape with all types of farming from arable, sheep, goats, cattle, woodland management and I saw very little traffic.

A fantastic day out in Bressuire for anyone who enjoys the roar of a vintage car engine.
It's a vintage car rally around the streets and it's on at the end of June each year. Great atmosphere and
you get very close to the action too!
