Since 1990, Villa Monaco in Cap-d’Ail, just three minutes from the Principality of Monaco on the French Riviera, has been shaped by a passion for art, architecture and design. In 1990, a historic olive plantation in Cap-d’Ail, with 200-year-old olive trees, was transformed by owner Jessica Stockmann into one of the French Riviera’s most distinctive private estates.

As Monaco prepares to host the Grand Départ of La Vuelta a España 2026, we’re looking back at Sir Mark Cavendish’s stay at Villa Monaco. One of the greatest road sprinters in cycling history, Cavendish chose the villa as his private base while training on the roads of Monaco and the French Riviera. 🚴🚴🚴
