Of those, 2,753 people died at the World Trade Center in New York, including 343 firefighters, 23 NYPD officers, and 37 Port Authority police officers.

Despite the relentless heatwaves we have had in France (33 degrees today) it is nice to see the wild Ivy-leaved Cyclamen has made it's annual appearance still.

Mama taking baby out of the run for the first time today. It looks like the last 4 or 5 eggs are infertile. However, I will leave them for another 4 or 5 days. I can't hear anything inside the eggs.
So out of 10 eggs we had 4 hatch but 3 died and 1 survivor.
Hopefully Mother hen will do a better job if she ever goes broody again.

Nature is wonderful and cruel at the same time. Of 4 that hatched only this one has survived.
Also this week we lost a hen to a Goshawk.
Most birds of prey leave us alone as we have crows nearby and various other deterants. However, Goshawks hunt in woodland and that's where she got the hen.
