We started our next tour with a visit to Bayeux beginning with a visit to a wee Commonwealth War Graves cemetery containing UK soldiers. As the Bayeux Tapestry is on holiday in England we visited the Bayeux Broderie where Natalie demonstrated the Bayeux stitch to us.
The next day we travelled to the spa town of Bagnoles de l'Orne, for lunch followed by a short journey on to Carrouges tomorrow the Chateau there. 🇫🇷

We packed in a heap at Mont St Michel, Cancale and Saint Malo over 2 days. A traditional picnic at the Biscuiterie overlooking the Mont, a nice Ricard for NormandieFoodie and dinner for all at La Mere Champlain in Cancale. The oysters we will eat at the home of NormandieFoodie tonight cooked kilpatrick style as the guests enjoy them. In Saint Malo we took a journey around the bay in a little catamaran and visited the sights of Dinard, Saint Servan and the old town of Saint Malo.

NormandieFoodie has arrived back in Normandie to greet a group from Baralaba. Today we are taking an early start to beat the crowds at Mont St Michel.
Very early this morning we drove through Villedieu-les-Poêles where the 2 year restoration of the ancient church is almost complete. The scaffolding is finally off.

Avignon, villages en Provence and then Nimes were next. 3 days spent in the region included a visit to beautiful Uzes. NormandieFoodie Nola Pontifex 🇫🇷

Our next stop was Beaune and the old hospice started in the town in 1443. The last elderly patients were treated in 1984.
A new modern hospital was built in 1973 and
there is a winery attached which contributes significantly to balancing the budget with some expensive prices levied. Nola Pontifex NormandieFoodie 🇫🇷

NormandieFoodie has begun a journey this week with some CQ folk. Beginning Tuesday morning at Charles de Gaulle airport and a quick train ride on the TGV back to near Villers Bretonneux to visit the Anzac memorial and the Sir John Monash centre 🇫🇷

The food challenge this week was Soupine de Pied Porc or pigs trotters. Lunch out at L'Auberge de Mesnil Rogues with friends and a very traditional Menu Normande. Tete de veau (head of veal), Tergoule, grilled Boudin Noir all Normandie specialities.
This type of meat or viande is available in the supermarkets for every day consumption.
