Christmas Wreath Workshop.

In aid of La Celle Association roof repair fund.

At our Christmas Wreath Workshop, you’ll have a fun and hands-on experience creating a beautiful, festive wreath from scratch! Here’s what to expect:

Introduction by Expert Florists
The workshop will be led by two experienced Australian florists, who will guide you step-by-step. They’ll show you how to select and arrange greenery, flowers, and decorations to design your own unique wreath.

Wreath-Making Demonstration
You'll learn tips and tricks to create a stunning wreath, from shaping and securing the frame to layering different textures and colours. There will be plenty of time to ask questions along the way.

Your Turn to Create
With all materials provided (including fresh greenery, pinecones, ornaments, and more), you’ll have the chance to craft your very own Christmas wreath. Our florists will be there to help you every step of the way.

Coffee, Cake & Chat
Enjoy a cozy break with complimentary coffee and cake. It’s a great opportunity to mingle with fellow attendees, share ideas, and get inspired by other creations!

You’ll leave with a fully decorated, handmade wreath to hang proudly at home or gift to a loved one.

Beautifully renovated "fermette" (small farm house) in lovely setting. Situated at edge of rural hamlet only 3kms to well supplied local town. Views across green to village pond and open countryside.

2 large double bedroom suites: 1 with bathroom and dressing room; the other with shower room and dressing room. Possibility to accommodate 7 people (4 in one suite, 3 in the other).

1 large well equipped dual aspect country kitchen and larger dual aspect lounge, both with views of the village pond. Underfloor heating throughout the ground floor with Villager wood burner in the lounge and Stanley (Aga group) range cooker in the kitchen for added ambience for autumn evenings

Fully equipped kitchen kitchen with dishwasher, hob, steamer and inside BBQ. Large kitchen table seating 6 comfortably, or 8 easily

Private setting but not isolated. Great place to relax - safe and secure setting

You don't even need to bother with shopping: Daily van services from local suppliers drive almost to the door offering bread (3 times a week) meat, a general store, and of course wine and alcohol on a Friday.

Why not utilise the great selection of well maintained walking / cycle paths criss cross the area. Saut de la Brame and Roc d'Enfer are accessible on foot, bike bicycle or are a few minutes by car.

If you're wanting something a little more adventurous, a renowned activities centre is only 2.5 km down the hill on the banks of the Gartempe River. The CPA (Centre de Plein Air - http://www.cpa-lathus.asso.fr) offers a vast range of activities from potholing to climbing, from horse riding to circus skills, from canoeing to archery.

You can use the house as a great base to explore from! Visit the world heritage listed abbey at St Savin to marvel at the frescos, revisit history at Oradour sur Glane's martyrs village, discover Montmorillon's cité de l'écrit, or the velorail, birds of prey and châteaux at Chauvigny. Venture by train to Limoges famous for its porcelaine and enamels; Poitiers and it's beautiful old town and cathedral, or even travel through the Brenne national park to the Loire châteaux on a longer day trip. Peruse the numerous local charity shops and brocantes to find some veritable bargains. The Vienne and Haute Vienne departments have something for everyone.

Our fantastic tenants have found their forever home and are expected to move out by early May.

Covid willing, I am hoping to spend some time at La Celle during June, July.

From August, our beautiful 2/3 bedroom home will be available for weekly or long term let.

Please get in contact if you want to stay in rural France for 1 or 2 week in the summer, or up to 1 year starting from August/September.

Suitable for sensible adults and well behaved dogs. Fully fenced section of garden and plenty of nearby walking paths. Perfect for our canine friends.

Workaway!

Does anyone know anyone who wants a workaway experience in rural France? Improve your French chatting to the villagers or make your English worse chatting to me :-)

I need help installing a concrete patio (I have a concrete mixer) and creating a safety guard on a upstairs window. A bit of furniture shuffling and perhaps a little refresher paintwork.

Free board and accommodation for 3 or 4 hrs work per day (5 day minimum stay). I have already listed this on the the www.workaway.info website. 6 - 19 August. Own transport preferable but I might be able to collect you from Lathus, Le Dorat or Montmorillon train stations.

Vegetarian food provided, but I am not fussy if you want to buy and cook some meat for yourself.

Great place to walk, cycle, relax, read books. No good for people interested in retail therapy 😆

Thanks to Manu and Frédérique, we now have a fenced and gated 800m2 section of our back garden. All that we need now is some bushes and bright flowers to make everything more beautiful 😁

Coronovirus will hopefully be under control in the next few months. Holidays may be out of the question, but we why not spend a few months isolating in a beautiful house, in a wonderful location.
