This is indeed a true hidden gem in the heart of the lovely village of Le Cannet on the hill that overlooks Cannes but not as remote as Mougins! This 17th Century village house has been refurbished in the last years whilst still retaining a charming Provencal feel - the property has 3 well-designed modern bedrooms each with a bathroom and a well-equipped kitchen. els with small sea views from the 2 upper level bedrooms. All bedrooms can be made up either with a kingsize bed or 2 single beds. The drawing room has a large Italian sofa bed with lovely views over the garden. The dining room with large dining table has convenient direct access kitchen and terrace. The outdoor area is really lovely with its suspended garden and terrace. The house has all up to date amenities to include air conditioning, Wifi, satellite TV with plasma screen. There are plenty of local shops closeby. It is located at the top of Cannes's well-known Boulevard Carnot that directly connects the Palais des Festivals to Le Cannet. There is a convenient taxi service directly to the Croisette (10mn)
The centre of Cannes can also be reached by the fast-track direct bus N°1 in 15 minutes for just over 1€. It is very easy to park close to this villa either in the street or in one of the 9 free or pay communal car-parks. Quiet neighbourhood.

Review March 2019 :Myself and two colleagues stayed in this beautiful villa whilst on a business trip in Cannes and the property absolutely surpassed our expectations! Before we arrived in Cannes both J and P were extremely helpful with any queries we that we had about our upcoming trip and once we arrived at the villa we were received an extremely warm greeting by Patrice who showed us around the extensive property. The villas location is set back from central Cannes in a very peaceful French village location, but the seafront and all of the main attractions are easily reached by taxi in a few minutes, or alternatively there is a bus stop a 2 minute walk from the property. All of the rooms and external space of the property were very clean and well presented, with some of the property having recently undergone refurbishment to a very high standard. The downstairs bathroom is gorgeous!!! When it came time for us to leave the villa Patrice was again on hand to help us with our departure.

Review July 2018: We stayed in this lovely, old villa last week for a family holiday and it was perfect for us. The description and photos are entirely accurate but cannot convey the delightful feeling of seclusion and peace the villa offers. The large dining table was great for big family meals and the garden, sitting under the olive tree, was ideal for warm summer evenings. The property was spotlessly clean and well equipped. The manager was a delight, making us feel very welcome and offering help, if needed, through the week. The newly opened Bonnard Museum, less than 5 mins walk away, is highly recommended. 5 floors of fully air-conditioned, well presented material with an interesting local history. A car is really not necessary to stay in this house. Parking can be a problem and the nearby bus & taxi services into Cannes are excellent. So long as they could negotiate the lovely spiral staircase, I would unreservedly recommend this house to friends, it is a beautiful place to stay.

À Cannes, en 2007, Marjane Satrapi avait conquis le Jury avec l’adaptation de Persepolis, sa bande dessinée mondialement célébrée. Témoin de son temps, de l’Iran à la France, la dessinatrice devenue cinéaste avait su, à travers sa fillette de papier, jeter un pont entre sa terre natale et sa terre d’exil, en partageant avec nous ses révoltes, ses espoirs et ses combats.

À l’annonce de sa disparition, Thierry Frémaux a déclaré :
« Grâce à Marjane Satrapi et à son merveilleux Persepolis, l’animation a trouvé de magnifiques lettres de noblesse dans la Compétition du Festival de Cannes. Marjane était une artiste exceptionnelle et une femme profondément attachante, qui incarnait à la fois la joie de la création et la douleur de l’exil, nourrie de mémoires blessées. Nous la pleurons ce matin. »

In Cannes, in 2007, Marjane Satrapi won the Jury over with the adaptation of Persepolis, her internationally acclaimed graphic novel. A witness to her times, from Iran to France, the illustrator-turned-filmmaker built a bridge between her homeland and her land of exile through her paper heroine, sharing with us her revolts, her hopes and her struggles.

Following the announcement of her passing, Thierry Frémaux said:
“Thanks to Marjane Satrapi and her wonderful Persepolis, animation earned a place of distinction in the Competition at the Festival de Cannes. Marjane was an exceptional artist and a deeply endearing woman who embodied both the joy of creation and the pain of exile, shaped by wounded memories. We mourn her passing this morning.”
