Carp Fishing and Holiday Gite rental with private jacuzzi, terrace, gardens and swimming pool.

A few weeks to catch up on here, so this goes from the end of June, through to the first week of July.

Paul and Louie had a bit of a tricky week with temperatures in the low 30s, bad had seven fish between them up to 32lbs, but they, Leanne, Paula and the rest of the family all had a great week.

Rob and Allan had a similar tricky week with temperatures up into the 40Cs during the week and had just the three between them, which was a bit sad. But Allan had a great time with his common and had to get in the lake to encourage it out of some reeds 😆, but again, Katie, Diane and the family all had a great week and it was lovely to see you all again 🥰.

Well we've also been experiencing the horrible high temperatures that were around the week of 20th June, which were up to 42C for about 4 days. Andy and Charlie were only going to fish days anyway, but that became just a couple of hours from about 5-7am. After that it was pool time.

No carp were in the mood to eat, though a lot were seen topping out in the mornings, but unfortunately there were no catches. Chris had arrived by motorbike 🏍 and had intended to go exploring, but the hot weather put a stop to that too, just not pleasant riding weather!

The week was rounded off with a mini freak weather tornado that dropped a load of rain, felled two lakeside trees over the track, and took the top out of two other big trees, and dumped one of them on the road! Jon was quickly out with the chainsaw, and our neighbour and lovely guests Andy, Sarah, Charlie and Chris came and helped to clear the road for traffic. Thank you for your help guys 🥰☺️ and despite the heat, it was lovely meeting all of you.

Again the swimming pool, fountain and garden were well used to cool off.

Hayden, Charlotte, Pete and Sarah were here with their children from 13 June. The temperatures climbed steadily during the week and were in the upper 30s for most of the time.

Hayden and Pete had 5 carp in really difficult fishing conditions, with the water temperature around 30C ! Pete had a new PB of 40lb8oz and was well happy, and got very wet too 😆 Quite a few managed to slip the hook but Hayden was determined to catch and had a 20lb mirror which took the pressure off! All caught on our house bait.

Nights were fished but only some daytime sessions, due to the high temperatures, when family time happened. Again the pool and the garden were in high demand, especially with our new pool fountain, and hopefully we can sort a date to see you all again next year 😁

The following week saw at least 5 consecutive days between 40-42C, which was harsh 🥵🥵 Andy and Charlie fished for a couple of hours in the morning, then retired to the gite and pool with Sarah and Chris. No carp were caught, but none of us were surprised by that! Thankfully these are not normal temperatures!!

Another catchup post, for early June... Colin, Sheila, Mark and Sarah were here at the beginning of June. Colin and Mark had 11 carp, the biggest being 45lb, ranging through 31lb to 37lb, 27lbs, and some in the 20s, and up to 20.

Mark was catching more, and Colin struggled some, even though they were fishing the same 🤷‍♀️, but he still caught and was happy with what he caught. All caught on our house bait.

No nights were fished, only daytimes, and Sarah and Sheila had good time in the pool and the garden, and we'll see you all again next year 😁

The carp spawned this year at the end of May beginning of June, which made fishing tricky just prior for Steve, and then after spawning for Jim, though he had a new PB of 34lb12oz, and got very wet for that 😆 It was a very hot week for Jim which made the fishing very hard especially as only days were fished. But everyone had a great holiday nonetheless, making full use of the pool, and days out to explore and eat.

With the weather cooling down when Alex and Katie arrived, they had a much better week. Alex had 11 carp and a new PB of 38lb12oz with a lovely common, which slapped him about 🤣 Alex fished days and nights and fish came both during the day and at night, with Katie bravely going out to take the night-time photos 👏👏 See you next year 😁

Another catchup post, for mid April to beginning of May, when there were many changes in the weather. With lovely sunshine, rain, and the wind changing direction over the lake constantly. Which made for some difficult fishing at times.

Erik, Maaike and the kids had some nice carp, fishing just days, at least one lost, and there was a new PB carp of 46lb for Erik 👏👏, and a new PB for Maaike of 26lb (I think 🤔)👏👏
🌟 🌟EDIT: Confirmed as 28lb 😁👏

Johan, Rien, Ellen, Fransisca and the kids enjoyed the week around the lake during the day, with float and pike fishing too. A difficult week carp wise but Rien was very happy with his 44lb 😊

Mat, Tracey and Yvette had a lovely week with Mat doing the fishing and catching 13 carp up to 41lb8oz. The food package was really welcomed and enjoyed too 🥘🍳🥓🍛🍜🍻🍷🥂 It was lovely to see you all again, and see you next year 😊

Apologies, I'm well behind in posts for the past few weeks as we've had family here 😀 So I'll do a catchup with a few posts. First from early April...

A good week for Scot, Jake, Phil, Melanie and Jade. The boys fished and had 22 carp between them ranging from the 20s to upper 40s, with at least x7 30s in there. And there was also a new PB for Scot of 47lb 🎣💪

Mel and Jade had a lovely relaxing week with the whirlpool bath, and they all had lunches out too 😉 😊

Adam had a great week here with his family, and although only 4 got to the bank, every fish caught beating his starting PB. He ended up with a new PB of 46lb 🎣. There were days out with the family to local parks, as well as to a local lake with a beach and lots of things to do. Also an Easter egg hunt around the lake 🥚 😊 See you next May 😉 😊
