As the dechetteries are shut, not only are we limited as to what we can buy, but we have lots of rubbish we can't get rid of.
We had part of a wall collapse recently, which included some flat bricks, so I've used them today to create an edge along one of the flower borders.

Day 5 of our Lockdown.
No progress pics today as I just cleared a path and the rhubarb patch of weeds.
Another beautiful day here though.

I used to have compost bins outside my polytunnel but they haven't been used or cleared for years.
I was going to resurrect them today, but it's a much bigger job than I thought, so all I could manage was starting to clear the space.
However, I've recently cleared the old soil from the tunnel beds, and hadn't got around to buying in replacement soil.
Clearing the compost area has given me lovely crumbly compost of old kitchen waste and leaf mulch which has refilled the first bed.
Another good day. Bed one ready for planting up :)

We're on day three of Lockdown in France.
As we're effectively in quarantine, I'm tackling a job a day in my own garden (weather permitting) and today it was tidying up my little herb garden and planting some new herbs I'd bought before all the shops shut.
It's worth pointing out at this point that I am a plantaholic, and buy hundreds of plants, but they usually end up dying in their pots because I don't get the time at home, so today has been bliss and I'm feeling very pleased with myself.
Some stragglers have been left in the hope I can take some cuttings from the old herbs and there's loads of mint at the front, which'll be perfect for tea!

Checking houses after tempête Amelie, I took a moment to drop in to a cemetary for a photo of the lovely Toussaint tradition, placing Chrysanths on the graves of lost loved ones.
