Known as the Jewel of the Riviera, Menton nestles between the Mediterranean Sea and the Alps right at the Italian border.

The fading grandeur of the Belle Epoque architecture mingles with the picturesque simplicity of the Old Town perched above the harbour, its pink and orange buildings huddled around the spectacular Basilica St. Michel.

Whether it's a sandy beach and warm, inviting sea; fabulous walking in the foothills in a collision of alpine & maritime climates and with stunning views; the museums & galleries of nearby Nice; strolling over the border to Italy for a hot chocolate while watching the sunset; or simply shopping & people-watching in Monaco—right next door—Menton is an extraordinary destination.

The flat is just behind the Old Town, in a quiet neighbourhood that's within easy reach of the pedestrian precinct, the market and the beaches.

It comprises a double bedroom, two lounge areas (each with a sofa-bed), a simple but well-equipped kitchen, and shower/toilet. A conservatory, perfect for evening meals, leads to a patio and small garden. There is central heating throughout, wifi, and phone with free calls to the UK.

Why "Chez Numpt"?
Heather’s parents, Nancy and Ed, were known universally as Numpt & Grumpt from the moment Dex was born—and this flat was Nancy’s haven. Nancy is sadly no longer with us but we continue to enjoy this wonderful corner of the Riviera.

Our growing collection of cacti... some come from the amazing Cactusmania just over the border in Ventimiglia (well worth a visit), some from neighbours, some from, erm, 'borrowed' cuttings, and some have just sort of appeared!
